When writing a course work piece for FdA Photography level 4, its strange the memories that come back to me when Im trying to explain why photography is what it is for me. When i took this photo back in October 2010, little did I know how much my photography was encouraging and inspiring people through my charity adventures.Â
This photo was in the New Forrest and my friend Harry is sitting on a very odd length of wall that stretch off in to the distance but had nothing else but a military grade road next to it in the woods. We were waiting on a DofE team to come through and what we would find out later after pointing out the wall and discussing the mystery of it to the young people is what it was.Â
It turned out to be a piece of the D Day Operation 1944, it was a part of the military build up of forces and equipment in preparation for Operation Overload. We found out via a book in a local tourist shop it was an aircraft park. The wall was used as an anchor point for the plane to be towed back in to via a long rope and vehicle moving down the road.
