Yesterday I took the Holst Supersoft that I had left after making my red Johanne Hat, added some silk mohair and cast on a festive new project. 🎄 I wanted to knit something mindless and beautiful, so I chose the Rose Cardigan by the talented Anna of @along.avec.anna 🧶 In the second picture you can see my progress after one day with lots of knitting time. After months with a severe loss of my knitting mojo I can finally show you a new project of mine! Yay! 😊 I am using Rauma Finull for this beautiful textured knit. Right now it is too early for me to reveal what this is going to be. But so far I am happy with how it is working up. This is the first time I am using Finull and I really enjoy it. It is a great rustic yarn which would also be perfect for colorwork projects. And the color has a beautiful depth. 😍 If everything goes according to plan, I hope to share some progress on this project soon. 🤞 It is nice to be finally back! Last week I cast on a new summer project and so far I think it is really lovely. 😍 It has this very simple to work yet beautiful lace at the neckline. Happy New Year everyone! 🥂 As it happened, I managed to finish a secret project just as the last year ended. So, I was able to start the new year with a new cast on which was awesome! 🥳 Do you remember my Turning Skies Sweater that I made last autumn? 🧶 #turningSkiesSweater Back then I really wanted a mindless and instandly rewarding project with loads of my beloved Stockinette stitch. And even though I am totally in love with the result - which you can see on the second slide - I decided to tweak it a little before writing the pattern. Yesterday I shared some swatches that I made over the past few days in my stories. I had a really hard time to decide what my next project would be even though I was aching to cast on something new. So that kept me thinking... Why was is sooo hard to decide that I could not make up my mind for days? 🤔 I thought about that a lot and came to the conclusion that I might have put too much pressure on myself lately. I really want to create beautiful new designs for you. Designing is what I love! But sometimes I feel I cannot live up to my expectations. This might have something to do with my #boughsOfHollySweater 🧶 I have been trying to grade it for so long now, but I am still not done with it. Grading the sleeves for the larger sizes is just a nightmare, because there are so little rounds where I can place the decreases. Long story short, yesterday I decided that I needed a mindless project right now. Something that I would love to knit, that would be easy and work up fast. Something with as little obstacles as possible. Something with no pressure attached. So, I finally casted on something new! Yay! 🥳 And I am so glad I did! This is going to be a cropped drop shoulder sweater and I am in love already. This is my first time working with Plötulopi and this yarn really is one of a kind! Can you believe that I got all that sweater out of ONE single plate of Plötulopi?! 😲 Amazing, right? And it knits up SO fast. I managed to knit all this in just 5 hours! Also the fabric is so squishy, the color is just stunning and then there is this awesome sheepy smell! 😍 I am so glad that I have casted this one on! I really needed to feel the knitting joy that I am feeling right now. Sometimes it is the simplest Stockinette project that I will enjoy the most. Last week I casted on a new project. For some time I was not quite sure, if my idea would work. But now that I made a little progress, I am confident enough to share the first picture with you. 😊 It is going to be a circular yoke summer top that is knit with a rather fine single ply silk and merino yarn called ggh Lacy. I decided to work linen stitch with 5mm needles - a needle size that would be way too big for this yarn, if I was knitting Stockinette. 🧶 The resulting fabric has a super fun texture, does not roll up at the edge and is very light and airy. I can imagine this top to be a dream to wear.
