Each and every breathe I took, was to stay here, with you. Every opportunity disregarded, not taken or missed, was in direct correlation to you, your plans or something you desired.
Each night as I lie to rest, you were my last thought. And each morning with the sun, you were my first.
Plans were dreamt of, talked about and made. Moneys spent. Small loans taken. Just for the one day I'd remember your happiness for the rest of eternity.
But plans changed. Erased. Forgotten.
Forgotten like the trigonometry equations of high school. Like the memory of our first day on Earth. How your first sip of water tasted.
All so simply.
I was heartbroken. I was destroyed. I was betrayed. I was blindsided. I was dead to you.
Years passed. New events occurred. Love spring new. And died. Resurfaced. Sunk. Time and time again, I held each new love against your everything.
Why?
You were all I knew. You were my first everything for an entire decade of my life. And you crushed me. Walked away. Gone.
But I got new bones now. And these bones are much stronger. And these bones understand the beating coming with love is worth it because these bones know if it's really love, the problems will vanish, eventually.
New bones.
