Today, in invisible mending.
Can you see it?
It's the second time I've bought these style of shoes, and I like the look but they don't seem to last. My big toe is already wearing a hole in one of them after less than 4 months of wear. Embarrassing for all involved.
I have a curved needle and a pretty close colour of thread, let's go.
I folded up a scrap of fabric to a few cm by a few cm and held it in the toe of the worn shoe, and then used a curved upholstery needle for the first time.
Hated it a little bit, very weird thing to have to hold onto and control. It is very curved, but because of having to stitch fairly deeply into the shoe upper I still couldn't take small stitches. I don't know how else I could have done it though, it's most probably the best tool for the (weird) job.
Here's the before. You can also barely see the damage in this picture, because I noticed it early and (this is character development for me) stopped wearing it until I got around to mending it. Pre-mending it. Mend avoiding.
