Winkworth Arboretum is one of those places that changes every time you visit. The paths wind through woodland, around lakes and across open hillsides, and no two walks ever feel quite the same. It's best known for its autumn colour, but there's something to notice in every season – fresh spring growth, the deep greens of summer, bare branches reflected in still water, or the quiet textures of winter.

Managed by the National Trust, it's a place that rewards slowing down. Most of these photographs weren't planned; they came from simply walking, looking and waiting for a small moment that might otherwise have been missed. For Half Past Normal, Winkworth has become less of a destination and more of a familiar place to return to, where the landscape is always changing but the feeling of being there remains the same.
