*Cookies of many kinds are handed to you in a travel-worn box, delivered by an exhausted Legend.*
A note attached to the box reads: For the coolest, most amazing, splendiferously wild, insanely talented, Plink whom I’m blessed to have met! I sent Legend on a quest to acquire & deliver you some cookies! I hope he found some of the kinds you like! How are you? How have you been? <3
I wrap Legend in a blanket, giving him permission to rest for a little while. Box of cookies beside me, and munching on one every now and then, I sit at my desk and compose a letter in return:
Many thanks, I was just thinking to myself how hungry I am, too early for dinner to be had, so these cookies will do well to hold me over until supper. Legend did well; sugar cookies, peanut butter, chocolate chip, Oreos—all my favorites literally 😭😭😭
Kwkdhdhdhsjjdksajs stawwwwpp ur making me blush 🥰🤪🖤🖤🖤
I can’t think of any clever ways to return your compliment, so I will just give you one outright: I admire you for your temperament, kind and wise and thoughtful. I think you belong in Narnia, or maybe Alice’s Wonderland—you would fit in perfectly, with the rest of the wonder and whimsy, and I think Peter and Susan and Edmund and Lucy would have enjoyed your counsel and company.
I’m doing alright! My sister is expecting, so I’m going to be an aunt! I’m graduating high school (technically, I’ve already graduated! But I do have two more classes to complete before I’m fully done), and I’m also attempting to pursue the Lord. It’s…well, it’s going. I’m reading 1st Samuel—I’m on chapter 27, I think—and I have to say the story of Saul and David is…intriguing. I feel bad for Michal. It makes me curious about the history, what kind of culture they had at the time. Some of this stuff sounds outlandish to me—but maybe it was perfectly acceptable at the time.
I’m also attempting to get a job. I spruced up my resume, yesterday, but the hardest part is applying. There are so many boxes to fill out, it’s frustrating and dizzying. All part of the experience I suppose, and nothing that I ought to let stop me…this answer has turned out longer than I expected. I understand if you didn’t read it all, or take awhile to do so. Feel free to do either, I don’t mind!
I fold the letter, tucking it away in a little envelope and sealing it with fragrant red wax. With a wave of my hand, it disappears in a flash of shimmering light.
