Apparently, it’s a mix of the short attention span, the way my face just lights up and I get all excited when I see someone I like, am super protective, proud and supportive towards my dance partner (I straight out decided I wanted to adopt her the first time we met, I kid you not!  And, now that you mention it, I’m sort of the “veteran” that paired up with a “rookie”, despite having 7 years of belly-dancing experience over her, because I just thought there was something about her so vibrant, amazing and passionate, and she was just so thrilled about tribal fusion, and couldn’t wait to start creating projects and exploring possibilities, and she shyly approached me after her first show and was like “Hey, maybe in a few years, once I’ve gained some experience, we could do a dance number together?” and I totally just went “SCREW A FEW YEARS!  WE’RE DOING THE THING NOW!  YOU’RE MY DANCE PARTNER!” I mean, look at her!  She’s just about the sweetest and most adorable little thing there is and OMFG! I just love her, okay?!), but also have no trouble being assertive, putting my foot down and confronting people / setting clear limits when the situation calls for it (they saw me angry once).

Also, if there are any treats around (cookies, chocolate, candies, other goodies...) you can pretty much bet I’m going to be all over them.

@gutterballgt I saw this and that's why I'm not 100% sure the version of the book in the Google books preview is the final draft that is going to be published on March 27th... But I totally ordered myself a copy on Kindle so hopefully I'll be able to confirm it or let you know what's changed pretty soon...

I watched it tonight, and one spoiler-free thing I can tell you is they don’t say a word about where Raleigh Becket is today. He’s mentioned, but not in a “yeah, where is he, anyway?” kind of way. So no clues there, but he was definitely not put down as dead.

She thus no longer has female presenting mermaid nipples.

Why are only biologically female mermaids growing scales on their bodies, and not male ones?

Because, you see, among merfolks, mermaids are fierce warriors and hunters that protect their clan and typically go hunting for food.  They thus require more protection to their upper bodies, and so their stomach and torso, in the ocean, are naturally covered by a chain-mail-like scales armor.

Since they thus have absolutely no exposed nipples under water, and their scales covered skin take longer to adjust to weight changes, you’ll be pleased to learn that it is only the biological males of the species that can get pregnant, carry the babies, and breastfeed them.

The scales only vanish on dry land, when they need to pass for humans.  Otherwise, they have naturally stronger bodies and thicker skin than their biological male counterparts.

You can also bet that, in this AU, the merfolks are 100% non-sexist, egalitarian folks, that don’t see the female presenting nipples as sexual organs or features needing any type of covering, and they sure don’t bother with wearing shells or any sort of bras because “HEY!  WATER!  Natural support for titties!  Why the fuck would I need a pair of shells?  Jesus!”

So yeah, they don’t share the American culture at all in terms of the female presenting breasts being anything children should be protected from.  That’s pure nonsense.

So that’s it!  In this version, Jazmine gets scales whenever exposed to “wetness”.  Yup!

A little bonus for my fellow Chaleigh fans...

Sadly, no.

I have roleplayed on other platforms (besides Tumblr), but never Facebook or Twitter.

I’ve heard about people having had trouble with Facebook policies and ending up with much of their writing lost…  :  (  Plus, I tend to prefer using it for personal purposes v.s. fandom activities.

And while Twitter has produced a few gems that were occasionally posted here on Tumblr, I’m not sure I’d be comfortable with the format…  I had a friend who showed me a few RPing blogs, and there seemed to be a lot of people venting their frustrations on there in the form of vague short statements that you don’t quite know who or what they are directed at.

Fellow RPers?  RL situations?  Yourself?

I’d probably go nuts very fast trying to weed out the actual RPing v.s. RL stuff and whether or not what’s been written there has anything to do with me.  Or stop giving a damn altogether…

Maybe that’s how people do it, actually.  Let people vent if that makes them feel good whether they have any clue what this is about or not and ignore whatever is not clearly and directly addressed to them…

But yeah, those are the two well-known RPing platforms I haven’t tried out yet.

I’ve also struggled a little bit more with my health lately, so I’ve been a lot less active with the fandom and with RPing.

But I’m still around…  Mostly.

I just have 98 drafts (I kid you not!) for this blog alone.  Mostly not RP related, though - fandom and more personal stuff!  Like gifsets that I saw were really nice and went “Oh!  I’ll tag this later!  In the meantime here!  Let me save it in my drafts!”…  Or meta that I started writing and then stopped to take a little break because I was swimming in brain fog, and then never finished because my attention got caught elsewhere…  Or really nice little questionnaires that friends tagged me in that I put in the drafts so I could fill them later when I got the level of attention required to complete them…

I still roleplay a bit.  But currently with one or two partners at a time that have been thoroughly warned that I’m the slowest RPer in the world, ever, of all time.  A totally distracted little shit that will constantly vanish on you because she’s been using up all of her spoons over a few days, and can no longer quite concentrate on her posts (or often just on anything web-related).

Of course, there’s this part of me that as soon as she hears about people looking for RP partners wants to jump in and go “Ooh!  I’ll write with you!” because RPing is awesome and I’ve made great friends that way.  Plus, I know how frustrating it is to have this awesome character and tons of storyline you want to write for them and no one to play with.

So if I could, I’d love to RP with everyone out there and provide the world with such opportunities!

But realistically, while I would probably not outright reject anyone if directly approached for RPing, I really want to make sure I’m not getting too scattered all over the place, and continue to give priority to the people I’ve already started writing with given how I’m already operating on pretty limited capacities.

So apparently (unless my parents have been lying to me for all these years), I will be turning 34 on May 30th. For the occasion, have decided to celebrate by doing a massive re-posting of some of the stuff from my blog (mostly Chaleigh related).

Therefore, from midnight to midnight on May 30th, you can expect to see something posted from me every 15 minutes.
