ROUND 1 - Match 441 of 500 - Netherrack vs. Crimson Fence
Netherrack is a frail stone block found abundantly in the Nether and in blobs below ruined portals. Although it itself is not flammable, fire lit on top of it burns indefinitely.
A fence is a barrier block that cannot normally be jumped over, similar to a wall. Unlike a wall, a player (but not mobs) can see through the openings in a fence block.
Which block is better?
Netherrack
Crimson Fence
Slipslate
Conceptually this brings back the "feeling of old Netherrack while functionally being the Nether version of Deepslate.
The name is a reference to the original name for The Nether- The Slip.
I might need to make a mod that adds mostly cave-based errata at this point lol. That being said, the messy, garish Netherrack is what I personally grew up with and I think it's a bummer that there's no block like that now in the palette, so I made my own.
EVEN MORE. Minecraft blocks.

HEY GUYS PREPARE TO HEAR AN UNPOPULAR OPINION!!! old netherrack doesn't deserve the hate the new netherrack sucks people tend to forget that the original biome name for the nether was HELL, not only that but it's based on hell so what do you think would be better for it? a crumbly crusty probably also wet unknown material filled block or a smooth red rock block? i know what i'm picking
with old netherrack, it looks like a combination of a bunch of stuff you wouldn't want to even THINK of touching with new netherrack, it looks like you could touch it and (despite it being hot), you'd not immediately recoil from disgust old netherrack looks sharp and crusty the new netherrack is WAY too smooth for literal HELL
Netherrack
