I played Beta 1.8.X for the first time today.

My spawnpoint.

I wanted coal to be the first rock I mined.

Snow in Beta 1.8. Ripper.

I spent most of the first "stage" trying to build this house and dig a stairway down. But we'll be getting into why that was futile soon.

I just got jumped by a Beta 1.8.X video sequence. I've never been broken out of a Minecraft gameplay trance so maliciously by the game on purpose, that was violent. The screen immediately after the TV static freakout (which can't be easily caught) looks like this by the way:

For some reason it works better in MultiMC than Betacraft.

Alright, so I booted it up - the menu said Beta 1.8.1 and had the splash text "Indie!" - I closed it quickly because I realized just then that it wasn't at 960x540 yet, and now in the window size I wanted it looks like this:

That's a pretty quick "twists and turns as you play" launch, BlueStaggo!

Let's see how this goes. (I really wanted to just play this on Betacraft, but fuck it.)
