I’ve only been actively listening to vkei and participating in the community for a couple of months, but I the amount of straight up larpers I see online makes me feel better about my credibility as a fan even though I’m new.

There’s people that are straight up disrespectful and pushes the boundaries of bandmen constantly. It’s not hard to be respectful ya know?

I might not know everything. I obviously don’t. But I’m actively trying to learn about vkei and interact with the community because to me it’s fun! How is it not fun to others? Are you genuinely just into vkei for the aesthetics of it? or are you too lazy to do any research?

hello everyone! i’m back with another live report (with two more coming soon lol). this past saturday, i once again was able to go to a kamijo live, and i absolutely adored it! i regret not writing a live report for my first kamijo live, especially because that was my first vkei live ever :( but it’s ok! anyways, let’s get into the report. buckle up, it’s a bit long.

お誕生日おめでとう🎂

i had been driving most of the day as i was returning from a long road trip. i left for the venue at 5:45 and arrived in LA an hour later. i was already pretty concerned i wouldn’t make it to the buppan because i arrived so late and so many people were already in line by the time i approached the venue. it was absolutely GORGEOUS inside by the way, the theater was absolutely perfect for kamijo, or honestly any tanbi artist really lol.

after scanning my ticket and getting inside, my fears were confirmed..the line for the merchandise was so long, it was spiraling down the stairs leading to the bathroom T_T however, thanks to a lovely friend i made in our local community, she was able to help me get a rose before the live began! (thank you serina (￣∇￣) )

anyways, after getting my merch, i took a seat. in comparison to kamijo’s previous US live, recording was allowed, with some guidelines. i was worried someone’s camera would block my view the whole time, or that during whatever segments i recorded, i risked doing the same to someone behind me, but thankfully this wasn’t the case.

at 8pm, the live finally started! the set list was absolutely AMAZING. of course, i was particularly looking forward to 薔薇は美しく散る and VAMPIRE ROCKSTAR, which kamijo did perform! i almost squealed a bit once i heard the beginning notes to each track. both kamijo and yuki seemed to be having a great time, and they had a few moments where they interacted on stage playfully (including kamijo gently whipping his hand with the tassel on his leather wristcuff lol). he also twirled around a lot while performing, which looked pretty cool with his long jacket lol.

i’m going to be quite honest..i was a bit lost on furitsuke for this one. i’m not even sure if kamijo had any official ones, or if he does, if they were more unique. for most of the live, me + the other gya mostly were waving the illuminated roses around to a fluctuating tempo depending on the rhythm of the song, but at some points (particularly VAMPIRE ROCKSTAR) i saw several people headbang and even do oritatami. i tried to as well, but as i was wearing a wig, i couldn’t do it with much energy T_T

MC #1: kamijo talked to the audience for a little bit and talked about he enjoys being in the US so far! he said he plans to stay for up to 4 more years (?) and seemed very happy with the crowd. he also drank some water in between songs in which I noticed he drinks water from a wine glass, lmfao

the rest of the setlist prior to the encore was amazing! aside from the aforementioned songs, i really enjoyed hearing nosferatu as well.

ENCORE: if you are here from my twitter you know i was not shutting up about this, but when i tell you i was losing my mind when he sang 冬東京!!! i never imagined i would get to hear it live, or honestly a lareine song to begin with! between lareine, versailles, and his solo works, lareine had held the highest place in my heart, so it was wonderful to hear it live! not to mention, the crowd’s energy for it was so wonderful, everyone was holding up their roses and swaying them in sync! i also really loved hearing mademoiselle, the instrumentals on that one are so charming!

MC #2: this one was kinda funny, during this MC kamijo talked once again about america and what places he’s shopped at in LA. he mentioned target and trader joe’s but said “BEST BUY IS BEST” lmfao. he then told a short story about how a few weeks prior, he went to a steak dinner with a staff member only to return to the parking lot and find his benz with a flat tire T_T

at the end of the show, everyone took bows and kamijo called out everyone’s name + thanked the staff in this very happy, high voice, it was really sweet.

overall, the live was beautiful! kamijo, along with every member of the band, did so well and i am so grateful i got to see them perform once again! i look forward to the next kamijo live!

bonus: shout out to the gyao with the adachi nui i talked to after the live ended, did not expect to see another persona fan in the wild, lmfao.
