TYCHO my favourite punching bag (affectionate).. hes a tiefling clockwork soul sorcerer that ive played in TWO games that BOTH went kaput lol rip.

He's the son of a noblewoman and a forgemaster, though shortly after he was born his father disappeared from the family and he doesn't have the best relationship with his mother since she's... a lot. Lol. Growing up with her turned him into a super meek, submissive, shy and nervous wreck.

His sorcery comes from his dad's side and is something that his mother has always tried to suppress and hide away because of her own personal feelings about her husband, but there's only so much you can do to stop a guy from exploring the magic they were born with lol. Pretty early on, Tycho developed a fascination with clocks and other mechanical contraptions, and has dreams of following (somewhat) in his father's footsteps by becoming a metalworker of some kind. His big dream is to own a shop selling the things he makes, from clocks and watches to toys to bigger, multipurpose machines of his own design! His mother being so disproving of his dreams and generally trying to stamp out the last traces of his joy and personality is what spurred him to leave home and try to become more independent. It's a sort of last-ditch effort to try and achieve his dreams and become the person he wants to be before he just gives up entirely and crawls back home to his mother.

Personality-wise, minus being a scared and shivering prey animal, he's a genuinely sweet and kind person who really values seeing the good in others and in giving people chances. Because he's so gentle all the time he's a bit of a pushover and pretty easy to bully/take advantage of, but nothing really stops him from trying to put more love and kindness into the world. His dreams are admittedly small because he doesn't know he's allowed to think bigger, but he still values them and wants to do everything he can to reach them.

In every universe I put him in he's a pacifist who has never experienced violence before but is forced to commit war crimes. I think its really amusing to do that to a character because I like watching them squirm, but I think its also an interesting test of their values and their concept of self, and I think Tycho is probably my favourite character to put in horrible situations agahdgdj

I designed him with a lot of different animals in mind, mainly bearded lizards, goats/sheep, and pangolins! So he's a scaly little guy with ram/goat horns. His clothes are both my favourite and least favourite part about him LOL, theres a lot of really detailed elements. His vest with gold trim and asymmetrical design is a pain to draw so I usually just put him in his frilly little shirt <3 I tried to include little clockwork elements into his design, so his glasses have a little clock hand design on the rim and a bunch of other parts of his outfit include pocket watch/timepiece motifs. He is a little mister fancypants for real.
