all the pseudoscorpions i find around here are unreasonably tiny Chthonius, so this somewhat bigger and shinier one (possibly Neobisium sp.) really stood out. it was nice to be able to watch one scuttle around without having to squint, a surprisingly fun activity considering it's basically akin to watching a very tiny roomba with a dying battery

Neobisium is a genus of pseudoscorpions (Pseudoscorpionida - Neobisiidae) with at least 232 named species [1].
Pseudoscorpions are a small and curious group of Arachnids. They are dorsally-ventrally flattened animals, typically less than 5 mm in length and generally light tan to reddish brown to black in color [2].
The family Neobisiidae is mostly distributed in the northern temperate regions of the world. They are found in leaf litter and soil, under rocks, bark and in caves [3].
