What is Nekya?
The part of the Odyssey where Odysseus travels in the underworld. Hence the word Νέκυια/Nekyia which stands for "the rite of the dead" or even more freely "necromancy" from the Greek word νέκυς aka "dead" or "dead body"
It takes place during the 11th rhapsody of the Odyssey (rhapsody lamda) right after Circe's isle first portion of their adventure.
The rhapsody involves the ceremony and sacrifice that Odysseus performs, Tiresias's prophecy as well as the interaction of Odysseus with various of the dead such as his mother Anticlea, his lost companion Elpenor, Agamemnon, Achilles and meeting or seeing heroes like the Heracles.
