Well. That immediately let him know what kind of person Harley was. He hadn’t been in Gotham long, but of course he had heard about several of it’s villains, including the infamous Joker… whom he assumed was who she was talking about. And from what he had heard… most of his jokes were in bad taste at best, and at worst…

…Still. Maybe it wasn’t best to say anything. He certainly didn’t want the hassle of fighting the Joker himself, and he definitely didn’t want to upset one of his henchpeople by insulting them… even if he won, it might end up drawing attention to himself, which was the last thing he wanted.

“W-well, that’s just say different strokes for different folks, huh?” Shadow said, nervously, with an attempt at his usual smile and a wink. “M-my sense of humour is just a bit different from his.”

Rabbits die when...their wallets are empty, you know?

It’s not like Tewi’s broke. She’s actually living pretty comfortably. But. It’s not enough-- it’s never enough. 

Sometimes you just want money so you can hold it, yeah? 

Today, Tewi sets out with a purpose. She does a lot of running around and setting out, but this time, she’s money-starved. She’s not gonna admire the sky or the flowers and enjoy the air; no, she’s gonna find some sorry sucker to scam, and she’s gonna make a run for it.

Hey, she’s not a bad person, really! If someone gets scammed, it’s totally their fault. And she’s teaching them a lesson: don’t trust the cute rabbit who suddenly comes up to you and tells you everything you want to hear.

Honestly, she’s doing everyone a favor~. They should thank her for this!

For a moment, maybe too, she is quiet. Her chest feels like it slowly tightens with every word the gray says.

And it certainly feels that way, like her breath is captured in the cavity where a heart would be, because it /hurts/. The words feel like they’re causing her pain and she’s almost frightened by how much anger makes her tiny hands curl into fists. 

“...They are my friends.” She says slowly, quieter, but with conviction, like the witches’ backbone is showing once again. “I am their friend as they are mine. True friends don’t do that to each other. I....I don’t believe you.”
