It can take a lot of strength to stand by your principles, especially when friends are doing the opposite. The decision about whether to drink or not to drink is for you to decide, not anyone else. You aren't useless or broken or wrong for refusing to go along with the crowd. You're making your own choices and that's something to be proud of. Good on ya, bro.

It's not bad not to drink. It's totally fine to never change your mind on that. Alcohol can be very destructive and unpleasant.
okay, thanks and all, like I really appreciate the sentiment
but it doesn’t change anything. i still can’t go out and have fun with friends because literally all that entails is going somewhere to drink. bars, parties, or even just hanging out or fucking playing d&d someone or multiple people always ends up drinking and then I’m left behind because I start feeling anxious and the rest of the time I’m just focusing on not losing my composure.
but it’s like how can I even say that here publically, let alone ask them to stop. it’s fucking rude they can do whatever the fuck they want.

that’s.... honestly not bad advice. but even still, I know muslims who do drink
it’s just this whole culture here. in america at least. everyone drinks all the time and it’s not questioned.
