Exactly! Maybe it's just because my expectations were kinda low, but they could have had her be explicitly bi, and still love John romantically (which could have been awesome too, I feel like I need to emphasise that) but with the path they chose, I was pleasantly surprised with how much care and thought they handled it. The fact that she still cares deeply for John and that he makes her feel safe enough to be honest with him about her struggles with this whole sex thing, and he's so accepting and sweet that you can't help but feel hurt for both sides (especially knowing what happens next). Like. He's the textbook perfect gentleman, what kind of woman wouldn't fall in love with him? Probably her inner thoughts. There's still love there, just not the kind Francesca expected when hearing her family talk about love. And the sheer contrast with Michaela, who just naturally takes her breath away??? Something definitely happened in Scotland, and honestly love the idea she may have caught Michaela be intimate with a woman and it just sparked an array of confusing feelings. I've seen people joke that Michaela probably thinks Francesca is homophobic as a result since she's been avoiding her, but it's just Francesca having the hots for her and not understanding it so she just runs from that lol

What made you ship it? See above. (There are also not many other characters to ship them with tbh.) In the book, it's kind of inevitable, it's destiny, they're moon and sun, etc etc; in the film, the dynamic - enemies-to-flirting-friends - is full of potential.

What are your favorite things about the ship? They're equal, even if Robin has to learn that the hard way, and they're partners in crime - or rather, partners in saving the world valley from the stubbornness of their families. Romeo and Juliet if they had common sense. Also just... "What were you doing with one of my ribbons in your pocket?" And...I'm going to leave GIFs down below. 😄

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship? I don't actually care that they're really young (13-ish?) in the book. It's clearly a fairytale. There are unicorns. Also everything is fictional. Maria rides on a dog at some point. You want to have a go at the book for animal abuse, too?
