Just got back from NCUR yesterday! it was a wonderful and scary and overwhelming experience. first poster, first big convention, first time flying, first time traveling out of state for a school trip. it was amazing to see so many other queer students and learn about their research. there were a couple of great presentations about science communication, one specifically about scientific illustration, that were incredibly inspiring. I'm exhausted but very glad that i went. shout out to my research partner Madison for being a chill travel companion during all the ups and downs. and shout out to NCUR for having the pronoun stickers available.

My presentation went amazing. Full room and lots of good comments and even people thanking me for speaking on this and apologizing for what I've had to endure as an atheist. Couldn't record it but I will work on getting a video up with the information. Felt so nice to be able to talk about discrimination against nonbeliever and be received so warmly by my peers and fellow academics. Seriously one of the best experiences I've had as an undergraduate to talk on something so openly and make my self open to attack and instead be applauded and accepted. This means that I will get to go to Memphis, TN in April to present my research on exoplanets! Exciting!
