You can also use that kind of assumptions in your test too; just make sure the context is different (lol). And for reflections; provide reasons how you can improve this experiment. What would you do if you were to repeat this experiment?? And I would say provide at least 3 relevant assumptions and 3 relevant reflections just to be sufficient for an E. 

For Stats 1.10 Multivariate Data / 2.9 Inference, you can literally follow this checklist that can get you a Merit or Excellence.

1) PROBLEM - I wonder if ... (comparison between two groups) and show the (population of your data). State your prediction and describe why. Support with research and link it to context where necessary. 

2) PLAN - What are you going to do? - Where are you going to collect data from? - What happens if you did the sampling again? - What are your variables? - Modify or clean your data, if necessary.

3) DATA Place your graph with appropriate conventions (appropriate title and keys) that shows comparison between two groups.

4) ANALYSIS - Discuss statistical features; mean/median/mode, range/interquartile range, overlaps, and unusual/interesting features. Support with specific figures and units. Make sure they are also linked to context. Provide possible reason to why are the figures this way? Support your discussion with research and link back to context where appropriate too.

(Level 2 only). - Start talking about informal confidence interval. This is the vital part for Merit/Excellence. What are the informal confidence intervals for two groups and make sure you show your calculation as well as the formula of how you calculated it. I guess you might be using this formula if I'm not wrong: 

median ± 1.5 * (Interquartile range) / square root(number of samples). 

And link your calculations to context. Determine whether there's overlap between the intervals or not. 

This 91260 (2.5) standard is worth 2 credits and contributes to your Level 1 Numeracy requirement.

In this standard, the numerical units you will be likely to use are not limited to; distance (length) but also cost and scenery rating.

You are very likely to be given a real life issue / mathematical context in your test rather than a simple  question. Such as; you might be given a route of major roads in Auckland / Hawkes Bay cycleways, or anything like that.

For an Achieved, you need to correctly calculate the minimum and maximum values and also determine correctly whether the network for this case study is traversable or not. Also you need to show drawings and some brief descriptions. Make sure your communication is also clear.

For a Merit, you need to describe why/why not the network is traversable and also describe how you found shortest/longest routes (what methods?), etc. And also you need to be able to decide by yourself which route would you like to keep/remove to cater for groups of people's needs and explain why. And sum up the total length/cost/etc. It's up to you to decide but you need to support your decision with specific evidence relating to costs/distance etc and which groups will/won't it serve, etc.. (hope that makes sense)

And for an Excellence, you need to: - Devise a new strategy - merge all features into one tree. For example, let's assume you've got 3 separate networks (each showing length, time taken and scenic rating). you gotta condense them into one. There would be lots of decision making so I'd strongly recommend you plan first. Decide wisely though which route do you wanna keep and which one do you not want to have. You also need to justify why and how would this decision affect groups of people. You also gotta say whether your new strategy would be traversable or not (and why?) And you could also talk about improvements (what can be better?).

Do lots of reading to enhance your thinking, analyzing and writing skills. Because this year, you are 'likely' to sit either 2.8 Info Literacy standard, 2.9 Personal Responses and/or 2.4 Writing Portfolio. 

In the 2.8 you will be required to do research across different sites/sources for information and evaluating them, etc. 

In your 2.9 Personal Responses, you will be reading and personally responding to 6 texts (2.9 takes all year to do it). Pick books/texts that you're knowledgeable at, passionate at, and/or that can resonate with you, so it makes understanding easier. Or if you want/can, you could also pick more challenging texts so you could see how you go along with it. 

In the 2.4, you must have NO spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors if you really want a pass. This is worth 6 credits and contributes to your UE Writing credits - because it does contribute to getting your UE by just passing it, it is most likely schools would do it. One way I would suggest preparing for this is, practice your writing skills during the year, try to write formally instead of non-formally so once you're in a habit of doing them, you're ready for the assessment. This one involves thorough proofreading for errors / make sure what you talk about in it makes sense and if it's not understandable you must explain it/make it clear. Structuring is also vital. This is one of the hardest standards unless if you're really good at these. 

And for externals, practice writing essays too/unpacking essay questions/planning your essay, etc. Read/Understand questions carefully before you answer them - just to avoid careless mistakes.  I got an M in my 2.2 essay external despite English is my weakest subject so the externals are my strength. But also practice with essays during the year if you can (so you are well prepared for end of year exams)

First steps: Pick ONE question you understand best. Make sure you highlight/underline two parts of the question. Write down all the points/scenes shown in your studied text based on the question you chose. For example, let's suppose you chose this question: "Analyse how language features are used to make you feel joyful and/or sorrow". The first key word is Language Features. The second part of the question is Joyful/sorrowful feeling.

So then you write out all the language features used in your text - make sure you know why they are used. Pick between 2-4 of them as your essay focus (I'd recommend picking most significant ones). If you pick 3, then you will have to go with 3 body paragraphs.

Next steps: So once you have picked the language features you want to focus on in your essay, list them down. For each of them, make sure you have them when you write your body paragraphs. Use it as a checklist. S - opening statement E - explanations E - examples P - authors/directors purpose E - effects on readers/viewers E - evaluation (is the author/director successful)

It would be good to weave throughout ur paragraph (it means provide multiple relevant evidences and explanations). When it comes down to purpose, make sure u don't just simply randomly describe it. U need to provide perceptive reasons why he/she used/shown this/that. Think outside the box too - in linkage to the world around you - how is this relevant to our world. For effects, what can readers/ viewers learn? How can this affect society (either positive/negative way)? And in your evaluation, say why/why not is author/director successful. Talking about the nature of author/director would be useful too!
