I've spent the last hour and a half rearranging my Jurassic stuff on my shelf.
It was worth it, but my legs feel like jello, my arms feel like undercooked noodles, and I'm sweating like a gymbro, so no I'm not fine.
If you need me, Imma go melt into a puddle...π«
I just did a SHIT ton of reorganizing around my room. And I'm absolutely exhausted!π₯΅
And I'm definitely running out of room to store my collections!π
Literally my entire shelf has been consumed by the Jurassic Franchise!π
And a good half of my Star Wars figures are are just silently judging me for my dresser thing my TV is on!π
Din Jarin is judging you for your sins.
Oh, and Mia's absolutely unconscious rn.
So much moving and rearranging to do but I donβt wanna do anything fuuuuuuuck but I love moving around and getting to see new sights maybe I should do a house tour when Iβm done.
So me and my partner are trying to rearrange our bedroom (to figure out what we want to keep and what we want to move in after we finish moving). To do this a bit more easily than unplugging everything in our room and move all of our furniture around several times, I have created graph paper box models of all of our furniture and our room in 1:50 scale. Here's how our room is arranged right now:
And how we are going to have it arranged:
The process honestly wasn't too difficult (though a bit time consuming and a bit tedious, but a lot of fun!) and only required taking measurements (rounded to the nearest 5 cm) of the height (not strictly required, but helpful for visualizing), width, and depth of our furniture and the room (it is important to measure from baseboard to baseboard, otherwise your model will be off).
My notes and dimensions:
I took the measurements, made a net (shown below) on graph paper (with each unit being 0.5 cmΒ² and being equivalent to 10 cmΒ²) cut them out, folded them up and glued the faces together (I chose not to include the bottom face as that made the boxes much harder to make and less stable). For demonstrative purposes this is the net for a 45 cm x 50 cm x 55 cm table:
And after I made a few of those along with the outline of our room (I didn't include the power outlets, but if the room is new to you I think it'd be really helpful to include those, maybe along with labeled windows) with the doorways cut out (and the closet for funsies) and just placed the models where I thought they might work best.
Doing it this way allowed me to see what pieces of furniture would definitely not fit together against the wall and also let me visualize where things needed to be in order to access cabinets/drawers.
I found this immensely helpful and very fun, and might apply this to the rest of our house just for shits and giggles. If that does happen (or making little minecraft steve shaped versions of me and my partner), I'll make sure to update yall.

Some changes concerning my social media accounts
After careful consideration, I've decided to delete my art Instagram account. From the very beginning, it hasn't felt 'right' for me. The posting felt from the very beginning a chore as I had to resize my artwork just to fit into the molds of Instagram posts. It caused unnecessary stress and extra work, that didn't feel any more at some point or another that worth. Not to mention, when I would try to look at new art from different artists that I wasn't already following, I would often come up with just endless reels and videos. NOT art. I soon realized I just followed those people I already either followed on other social media platforms or I had been occasionally checking their art from some platform because I didn't have an account there.
There is also that, I never got my Instagram account to work. Most of the time it would be down or it wouldn't show up to all people, etc. So, at some point, I just lulled myself with the false idea that it would work as a backup, should my main art account (Deviantart) crash and burn down at some point. But even then, I knew I was lying to myself. After all, I had Tumblr and Pixiv. But the thing is...because I had started to post non-chronological orders in both accounts, I wasn't really happy with either of those.
So, after careful thinking, I decided to reset my Pixiv. I deleted most artworks and will now post slowly my art in there in chronological order, just so it'll be in neat, chronological order. Just so it'll be in the way I originally wanted it to be. It'll take time, but for my own peace of mind, I'll do that. As for Tumblr...well, I can't really do anything about it, as I know people have reposted some of my artwork, so deleting the original posts wouldn't do anything. Luckily I can also repost my artwork, so when/if people look at my art through Tumblr, they'll also see some of my newer artworks and not just older ones. Or a mix of both of those.
No matter what, I hope everybody who has possibly followed my Instagram account will accept my decision and be fine with the fact, it just isn't my thing. I'll still post my art to DeviantArt, Pixiv, and Tumblr. I hope you can still continue to follow/support/like my artwork/favorite my artwork/comment/etc. in those accounts and be patient with me when I'll be reconstructing my Pixiv account, because all the support and love that I've gotten so far has been amazing and I'm ever thankful for all that and so much more!Β
