After another 3 miles for Day 2, dialed up 4 miles for Day 3. These miles use to seem so much easier to come by back in the day😂

The last two runs of 5+ miles were a lot easier than that first one I attempted earlier this month. My legs felt pretty good after both of these runs. Now that I'm starting to get a feel for runs of this distance again, I'm hoping to start shaving off secs on that pace. It'd be nice to see some 6s & 7s on those splits. Until next time...Peace.Love.Run
Week 9 of training and off to a decent start. I only ran twice in week 8, and both were on the treadmill. It was a busy week of high school playoff basketball, so it made for my most inactive week thus far. I needed this start.
Fresh legs prevailed as I ran my first sub-30 min 4 miler in a couple years. Good to know I didn’t lose too much. Today, I got out for a 2.5 mile tempo run. It probably wasn’t the smartest decision to run a tempo on the first time running that particular greenway. I had to run a couple over-land connectors because of flooding. My time slowed from the waits at crosswalks, but the new scene made up for it.
Tomorrow is a rest day and I’ll be back at it on Thursday for another 2-miles. Outdoors hopefully! Until then, Peace.Love.Run.
Backend of week 9 recap: This week started out strong and the weekend was more of the same. Thursday’s 2 miles got pushed back to Friday due to rain, and my refusal to get on a treadmill. I ran it with a little bit of tempo, and came in with a pair of near 7 min miles.
Into Saturday, my daughter had a three hour practice, so I ran those 3.25 miles on a greenway near uptown. There were plenty of people out taking advantage of the near perfect running weather. I didn’t go too hard for much of this run, but a solid effort for sure. I tried to leave a little bit in the tank for Sunday’s eight.
Sunday’s run has been the longest run thus far. Haven’t ran 8 miles in forever, so I kept it in cruise control in order to secure a strong finish. Every single mile stayed within 8 mins, give or take a few seconds. It didn’t feel like I was moving at that pace, but I will not complain about the result.
With three straight days of running, I took a rest day and have been out on the deck since I’ve been home from work. Much needed meditation and relaxation. Back at it again tomorrow! Until then...Peace.Love.Run.
Third run of the week for 6 miles. The combination of events and weather had relegated me to the treadmill for my first two runs of the week, resulting in a small hiatus. Hard to get excited to post about those, but today made up for it. It was 37 degrees out with virtually no wind, so I warmed into a nice groove rather quickly. I stayed in cruised control for the first five and hasten the pace just a hair to finish it off. The greenway was still nasty from this week’s storms and it was flooded out at the bend around mile 4, but what is a run without obstacles, right?
Tomorrow will be 3 mile tempo. We’ll see how that goes. Until then, Peace.Love.Run.

First run of the week😬These rainy days are killing the vibe for a good run. Today it was cloudy all day, but no rain and a perfect 60 degrees. I need more of this. It’s been a few days, but I still felt pretty solid. Took it to the hills for the first time in almost 2 weeks and got a good burn in.
There are showers in the forecast for tomorrow, but I’m hoping to find a dry time to get out there. If not, the dreadmill. We’ll see. Until then...Peace.Love.Run.
Finally getting back to posting after the recent turn of events and this terrible work schedule I’m now on. I haven’t been as active since the postponement of the race, getting only 4 runs in the last two weeks. It put me in a funk, but I think I’m starting to climb out of it.
Today would’ve been race day, so I made it a purpose to get out and still run 10k. Maybe not as fast as I wanted, but it felt great. Hopefully, I can maintain at least 3 runs a week until I get back into the training window.
Three weeks is enough time to reset. Time to get back at it. Until then...Peace.Love.Run.
First outdoor run in a week, but it finally happened for me. Much needed! 3-mile tempo with the last mile coming in under 7:15, which is about 10 seconds faster than my desired race pace. I thought I’d be a little slower today being that the last few runs have been on the treadmill, but it didn’t effect me much if at all. It feels good to see the sub-8:00/mi splits becoming more of a norm.
All sunshine this weekend, so I’ll be out there for a quick 2 miles on Saturday and 7 more on Sunday. Until then...Peace.Love.Run.
