In the pattern at NAWS China Lake - KNID
Nawsy and her son Goji!
Does surah act differently when armored?
Yes, Surah loses a lot of her skittishness and fear, but in turn she comes off as much more aggressive and abrasive (even when not trying to be).
Being covered almost head to toe in armor means there is less possibility of coming to harm at the claws of any other creature, making her much braver. But that wasn’t exactly a good thing.
Particularly back when Surah first started exploring the land above ground, she wasn’t the nicest monster.. She saw most others as threats and adversaries, and found it fun to threaten and bully any creatures that crossed her path. Consequently, Surah earned quite a bad reputation and fear from others, especially those nearest to the desert she hangs around in.
...but Surah eventually found herself to be quite lonely when everyone hated and avoided her entirely (of course for obvious reasons, but Surah is not the best at connecting actions to consequences). No one dared go near her; In fact, that area was practically deserted for a time, so long as she was there (until another elder dragon “chased” her away).
[Presently, Surah has been able to quell her attitude a little, but she still expects everyone to hate her.]
Why only one wizarding school?
I have always found the ideal of only one magical school for all of North America, a little ridiculous.
JK Rowling has said there are 300-600 students at Hogwarts, which means there is 300-600 magical students in about a population of 68.698 million (United Kingdom and Ireland).
Now we know Ilvermorny accepts students from Canada and the USA ( a combined population of 354.06 million) and assuming it has the same student to population ratio of Hogwarts, Ilvermorny would have 1,546-3,092 students. That is not even including Greenland or Iceland, which either have their own unmentioned school or would go to Ilvermorny, since no children from Greenland or Iceland are mentioned at Hogwards,
Not to mention, as a Californian myself, I can’t think the students from the American south and south west would like spending all year in Canada.
How does it make sense that Europe with a population of 742.1 (that is without Greenland and Iceland) get three magical schools, allowing each school about 300-600 students per school, but North America just has one 1,546-3,092 student school?
Six schools, spread out to the North West, West, South West, South East, North East, and Central of North America makes much more sense. For Example:
North American Wizarding schools
Note: I am purposely not going into details about Central America or South America, because I am not as intimate with the landscape or demographics. I felt it was not my place to make assumptions or conclusions about cultures or places I am not familiar with.
