i hate that they made jiraiya's chara like that because of the fucking comedic relief bs.
but.
jiraiya, a boy who did not really care about anything much - in the same group as a child prodigy and the granddaughter of the first hokage ended up "messing up" the summoning jutsu and leaving the living terrain.
i cannot imagine the kind of terror and fear that must have spread over people - a kid fucking summoned himself into a random dimension and we have clue which one, what or how to access him again.
only to find himself among frogs who literally adopt him and until his literal dying breath treat him like their own child.
inviting him for dinner as one of the last things before he died.
coming to help him and rescue him - all the frogs - no matter how bad the situation.
just. frogs.
and what an insane role they play during naruto and how jiraiya can be a much more complex chara if he wasnt fucked by kishimoto for the usual early 2000's shonen comedic relief.
