the only "funny" thing about the movie is that apparently, Naruto needs a genjutsu to be placed on him by a villain in order to discover that he "loves" hinata. this movie is a joke.

fiftyoff said: honestly his bullshit backtrack explaining is worse than the ending itself, it’s clear that he sold out at some point and he has a lot to answer to which he has to make up on the spot…..
Everytime I see a new explanation, I feel like he loses another cm of his backbone... Funny that he had 15 years to think about all this and still can't come up with plausible explanations.
i don't really get it...
kishi said he was misleading everyone and hinata was the love interest all along... a truly "shocking end"...
now, the only genre i can think of where that sort of writing works, is crime. as in, it would make perfect sense if you switch "love interest" with "murderer" bc obviously it's quite shocking to find out the murderer wasn't who you thought it was. you want to be shocked in the end of a crime novel, and then get a proper explanation and go ooh because you should have seen that but you didn't because the hints were so cleverly disguised/dismissed.
but... writing a shonen manga... using the above tactic... for a love interest... when it's not even a manga about love... it's about ninjas and regular shonen fighting and power of friendship... but the main character only saved the world to "distract" himself from his feelings for the love interest... he formed important bonds with other people and called the love interest weird, never talked to her, never responded to her confession, in the movie conveniently forgot about the confession, couldn't accept he had feeling for the love interest because he was so broken but had no problem begging another girl for dates and no problem dying with his best friend/confirmed soulmate..............
truly a "shocking" end
shockingly bad writing is what is
Question time. I need an answer to this and I don't know if anyone ever talked about it bc then please let me know.
But who the FUCK decided that putting the Kyuubi container and the sole surviving Uchiha on the same genin team was a good idea???????????
I don't get it. I mean I understand that Kishi probably thought of all the backstories later. But in that case... I repeat... who the FUCK decided that putting the Kyuubi container and the sole surviving Uchiha on the same genin team was smart???????????
Like, Sasuke's family was accused of using the Kyuubi to attack the village. Like, Sasuke is the only one who could potentially develop the power to control the Kyuubi. I would get it if they'd been brought up together closely and the village had made sure they were friends and stuff, so that in case Naruto would lose control, Sasuke could step in and suppress the Kyuubi, if they ever reached that skill level. This would make sense. Using the both of them to protect Konoha and keep its strength intact.
Considering Kishi probably had no fucking clue about this being the backstory behind the Uchiha's isolation when he started out, it makes sense that this issue was never brought up in the beginning. But it only proves how badly the plot was thought out even later, because how would he justify that this happened? Even Kakashi clearly knew about Naruto's identity, and Sasuke's past.
But first of all, we have two orphans treated like shit by the village, with no reason at all to be nice back.
Second of all, we have two orphans treated like shit with potentially dangerous powers.
Third of all, let's put them on the same team and not worry at all when they clearly don't get along, especially when one of them shows signs of wanting to defect from the village.
I mean, Sasuke once enters Naruto's mind and talks to the Kyuubi. Shouldn't this be enough reason for Naruto never being allowed near him ever again? Plot aside, of course. The Akatsuki wanted the Kyuubi's power, and Sasuke later joined them. Sasuke doesn't manage to control the tailed beasts until the fight with Madara/Kaguya, sure, but the potential was still there. And let's not even talk about the fact that Sasuke, whose family was murdered, whose family was also murdered for being supposedly dangerous, got no supervision, no help or restrictions when things started going downhill. The council appears to have just thought "K bye hope you die."
Naruto and Sasuke both awakened their powers at the same time, in a joined fight. I know that the plot never had anything to do with Sasuke potentially being able to control the Kyuubi, but think about it. If Sasuke had known his family's story, if he'd known what the Sharingan could do to Naruto's caged beast, if he'd known that Naruto had one before VoTE... Things could have taken an entirely different turn. I'm surprised Orochimaru wanted to neutralize Naruto and seemed to never really reflect on the fact that Naruto had the Kyuubi.
You know, considering he wanted to destroy Konoha, and Naruto was lovesick for Sasuke... I'm sure it would have been possible to brainwash him a little and have him join Sasuke so they could use the Kyuubi to attack Konoha.
I'm not saying any of this happening would have made a good story, but just the fact that this wasn't really touched at all... Because, who would, logically, think it's a good idea to put the survivor of a clan who supposedly possessed control over the Kyuubi and tried to destroy the village, together with the very same Kyuubi?
I know I wouldn't.
(I'd also give them a better childhood and a teacher of their own to make sure they used their powers for good deeds but who am I to look down on the amazing decision-making of this amazing village...)
wait... they're gonna fight on THE MOON??????
WE COULD HAVE HAD SPACE NINJAS ALL ALONG

I think at this point everything with the Last is just ‘let’s just push 699 chapters worth of development and established logic over there. It’s not like we need it much. Nah. Eh. Oh this might be nice fangirl fodder.. In it goes!’
True. Anything goes... I saw the gif of their kiss today. It's like, the only thing lacking now is a cherry blossom scene with Hinata's hair flowing in the wind...
hanieuchimaki replied to your post: okay but that gif of hinata applying...
Hinata just probably volunteered herself just to take that fucking chance to touch Naruto. How disgusted woman.
Well. Let's not throw hate around. I would totally volunteer to touch Naruto as well. With the difference that I'd use the time to convince him he really wants Sasuke naked in bed panting underneath him. Like, it's only logical. Hinata needs to see the logic of the world. Such as balms don't have any use for super powered ninja heroes with the Kyuubi inside of them.
Unless we switch Hinata to Sasuke because I think we can all agree that seeing Sasuke do that to Naruto no matter how useless would be a very huge fangirl moment.
And we forget that SP movie crew is very much made up of fangirls of NH. Who needs logic then?
Omg I can't believe I didn't realise that! Naruto heals so fast, using that balm is pretty much pointless... Another reason The Last is bullshit.
Yeah idk… I mean I get that it’s related to how she gave him an ointment during the chuunin exam but please… since when does Naruto need an ointment to heal nowadays. It would even make a million times more sense if you switch Hinata for Sakura, and using medical jutsu on him. Or did I read the scene wrong and she’s actually giving him a sexy massage?
