NaNo Progress November 27th
WIP: Magicians of Sky and Sea
Wordcount: 50181 (+2650 words)
General thoughts: so. I won NaNo. Zephyr & Co, reached Falling Blossoms, a Earth Torenden village. To be honest, I love Earth Torendens so much and writing this part was such a blast!
Unfortunately, I have some news to share. This will be my last progress post. I’ll write a proper post about it later (maybe tomorrow) but while writing MoSaS I realized that I must stop a little and plan some very important things regarding it. I’ll keep writing until the end of the month but I’ll be working on some other things (a translation among them). I hope to return to MoSaS soon though, and in my timetable it’s set for mid-December. To be honest, I already miss the story :C
A few other info: when starting NaNo, I was fully aware that MoSaS wouldn’t be finished by the end of the month. I planned the story to be long, and 50k wasn’t enough. And, in fact, I’m barely 1/3 in! So actually my goal for NaNo wasn’t to write the whole 50k words and finish the story, but my goal was just to start writing Magicians of Sky and Sea, which I did.
However, as I went on, I realized how big it was, so now I have to stop and plan some things in order to continue. Fortunately, all that I’ve written until now is okay, plot-wise. So yes, don’t worry. I’m not abandoning MoSaS. I’m just taking a short break to plan things out and to let my hands rest while i’m at it
I want to thank everybody who followed me during this month! Sharing the progress with you was a very nice experience, and made me feel part of the community. So, a big THANK YOU!
When they set foot in Falling Blossoms, the gate closing with a heavy thud behind them, Zephyr was taken aback by the silence of the place.
The village stood onto multiple levels of the mountain, layers upon layers of houses and other buildings, bridges and stairs that connected them. Lamps dangled down from them, little lights above the ground, like flaming stars.
People walked on the roads, and only then Zephyr realized that they were all talking, but only in murmurs and whispers, a soft song of life that covered the place.
She felt light and, without realizing, a smile blossomed on her face.
