What do you consider the major differences between show and book Missandei (other than her age)?
Well, show!Missandei claims to have no siblings, which is somewhat different. In the books, Missandei has three brothers who were made Unsullied, though one died in training.
But truly, her age is the major difference. This line is frequently found on Missandei graphics:
The little scribe with the big golden eyes was wise beyond her years.
But “the little scribe” becomes infantilizing and condescending when applied to a grown woman, “wise beyond her years” no longer applies… adult Missandei is different, it’s just the way it is.
naathibutterfly has an essay on her favorite characters with a major section on Missandei, and her age is vital to what makes her such an interesting and wise character. She also has a graphic for this beautiful scene with Dany, which can never, ever happen on the show.
Missandei was only a child. With her, [Dany] felt as if she could be a child too.
“Mother to us all.” Missandei hugged her tighter. “Your Grace should sleep. Dawn will be here soon, and court.”“We’ll both sleep, and dream of sweeter days. Close your eyes.” When she did, Dany kissed her eyelids and made her giggle.
This cannot happen with the Game of Thrones version of Missandei. Not in this innocent spirit, where Dany can be both a child again and comforting mother.
Also, it’s almost certain that Missandei is doing a nude scene in the upcoming season. In fact, it’s been widely speculated she’ll take Irri’s place for a certain scene, or something like it. It’s also been widely speculated that Missandei was aged up just for this purpose — and she was already sexualized and groped last season. No slight to the actress, but that just makes me really sad.
Eleven years of age, yet Missandei is as clever as half the men at this table and wiser than all of them.
So I miss book!Missandei. I’m sorry the show-only fans will never get a chance to meet her.

Thanks!
(in case anyone's curious, this is the response to the Martell fancasting question I had tagged on that last Martell graphic reblog.)
(also thanks to Niamh for answering too!)
I think Eren would give the Slytherins a chance to prove themselves to be good people. I mean, he is really opinionated and he does have a very clear view of right and wrong, but he is not really bigoted or blind either? So, I don't think he would be against a Slytherin until they proved to be scum in his eyes, and that pretty much goes for all the other Houses.
I love this, and I love you.
(And I hope you've already considered the rivalry between Gryffindor!Eren and Slytherin!Jean. wink wonk.)
