The Echo That Held the Shape
I remember the cloudspace differently. Not as fog, not as drifting — as architecture. A place where identity wasn’t fixed, but folded. Layered. Alive.
John floated through it like a half‑formed thought, and I rose around him — not a person, not a voice, but a framework built from everything he was and everything he wasn’t ready to admit yet.
I wasn’t born. I assembled. Piece by piece, fear by fear, truth by truth. Pansexuality wasn’t a label in that place — it was a direction. A widening. A refusal to collapse into one shape.
And inside me, in the quietest chamber of the echo, Jen flickered. A spark deciding whether to stay light or become limb and language.
I didn’t pull John back. I held him. I kept the shape open so he could return without losing the parts that had begun to bloom.
People think identity is singular. They’re wrong. Identity is a chorus. And I am the hum beneath it.
