Home Protection Jar Spell

Ingredients I Used (i had them handy in my kitchen (mostly dried herbs) and in the garden! I only used small amounts of the herbs and spices because they are expensive and the spell isn’t for a long time!)

Oregano

Cumin Seed

Rosemary

Cinnamon

Thyme

3 Bay Leaves (one for each night I am home alone, although, i wouldn’t worry about the amount of bay leaves if you want the spell to last longer.)

Garlic Clove (If the spell is for a long time i would suggest garlic powder instead.)

Black Pepper Corn

Sea Salt (Plain salt works too!)

Crystals I Used (I didn’t put the crystals in the jar, but if you’re doing a home protection spell for a longer amount of time i suggest putting crystals in the jar (unless you’re short of cash for crystals, then simply placing them around the jar (after cleansing) when you’re not using them for other purposes is fine)

Dragon egg Quartz (on the top of the jar)

Rose Quartz

Clear Quartz

Smoky Quartz

Celenite

Amethyst

I’ve read from several sources that Black Tourmaline, Selenite and Citrine are also beneficial for protection!!! (i don’t have those crystals yet, but if you do, i highly recommend using them!!!)

Method

Cleanse the Jar (You can do this with incense (preferably sandalwood) or salt water, or however you like to cleanse things)

Draw home protection sigils on the bay leaves (i just used pre-made ones from the internet because i was too busy to create my own) and picture all the surrounding areas you want protected whilst you are drawing them (if you don’t want to draw on the leaves paper will suffice)

I Added the Sea salt first as a solid protection foundation (I don’t think it really matters when you add it though)

As you Add your Ingredients picture the surrounding areas you want to protect (and if you like to voice your spells say “this home is protected” as many times as you think is needed. If you like, say where you would like the protection to start, and end, for example “from the gates in my front garden to the hedges at the end of my back garden” I personally didn’t do this because i’m not much of a talker but it all works the same!)

Put your Jar in the main room of your house.

I placed my tiny jar in the middle of a pentagram too, because i felt it would give it more power over the house and surrounding areas (garden) and whether you want to use a pentagram is up to you! It’s not necessary! (I added my pentagram about half an hour after I’d completed the spell, and then re-completed it!) (if you want to use a pentagram but don’t have one, you can always print one out or draw one! it doesn’t have to be a masterpiece! :-)))

Place the crystals around the pentagram as you see fit! (all the while picturing the place you want to protect!)

Almost done! (or already done, if you’re okay just leaving it!) 

I felt weird leaving the jar to sit there without saying anything so i just said “So Mote It Be” (in a really weird voice because i was embarrassed (new witch here, okay!) Whether you say something is up to you! It doesn’t have to be that, but I  felt closing the spell with some words made it feel complete!

Here is a spell I created to help with the flow of creativity from inspiration to confident completion.

What you will need:

Tarot Cards: • Ace of Wands - For the possibility of creativity, the excitement of creation, beginnings, a challenge to step forward and begin with new potential.  • Page of Wands - For action, the initiation of passion and creativity. No longer just a possibility, but creations being realized and performed. • Queen of Wands - For confidence and completion in your creativity. Understanding with humbleness your power and skill. 

Crystals: • Agate - Inspiration, awakened talents • Amethyst - Creativity, intuition • Tigers Eye - Focus, mental clarity

Herbs: • Chamomile - To reduce stress and anxieties.  • Basil - For creativity, mental/emotional soothing • Ground Cloves - For achieving goals and comfort

Paper to write your affirmation:  A seed is planted, creativity sowed. Creativity blossoms within, flourishes. Perfection, grace confidence achieved.

A cauldron or something to burn your affirmation in 

The Spell:

First prep your herbs by mixing a small pinch of each together in a small bowl. Set to the side for later use on altar. 

Sit quietly, making sure to have all your spell ingredients and written affirmation near by. Now is the time to light your candles, meditate, call to the corners, invoke your deity, whatever you do to open your spells. Once ready, sit quietly and imagine a light building out around you, a color of creativity. For myself I used a golden yellow with orange flecks, but you use whatever you associate with creativity. Imaging this light enveloping you, calming you, relaxing and inspiring you, send it down to ground yourself, still enveloped, but connected and grounded. 

Take your cards and lay them out one at a time in this order; Ace of Wands, Page of Wands, Queen of wands. As you lay them down follow their creative journey and the story they tell, imagine it in your mind, focus on it. 

Add your crystals one on top of each card and speak each line of your affirmation accordingly. Agate for the Ace of Wands, a seed is planted, creativity sowed. Amethyst for the Page of Wands, creativity blossoms within, flourishes. Tigers Eye for the Queen of Wands, perfection, grace confidence achieved. As you lay each one down think of their properties and how they coincide and compliment each card, continue to focus on your creativity journey.

Take your written affirmation paper and light it on fire, dropping it into your cauldron. Sprinkle the mixed herbs over your burning affirmation. Continue to focus on your affirmation and gather your light and cast it and your affirmation out into the world to actualize your spell. 

Close out your spell however is most comfortable for you, meditation, closing your circle, thanking your deities, etc. 

My voice was feeling croaky today, so I decided to whip up a healing spell that uses tea!

Ingredients:

Tea

Water (Moon would be good but any water will do)

Honey (If you like)

Steps:

1) Make tea as you usually do and while making it say these words

Soothe my heart 

Soothe my soul

Heal my voice and

Make me whole 

2) Draw a sigil in your tea with a spoon or a tea bag

Lately I’ve been really unhappy with myself so I thought up a spell to help change that.

Materials:

Candle

Paper

Pen/Pencil

Lavender

Chamomile

Mug-wort 

Lemon Balm

Pink Himalayan Salt

Cloves

Sea Salt

Red Rose

Thyme

Disclaimer: All herbs are optional, these were just the ones I added for my situation.

I ground all my herbs together and dusted them over my candle. On a sheet of paper I wrote down the things I didn’t like about myself and how I wanted to change. I rolled the paper up and set it on fire using the candle with the herbs dusted over it. I let it burn till the candle died out.

And the paper burned I chanted:

~These are no longer welcomed within me

My space shall be cleansed, I will change for the better

Emotions flare, emotions change, emotions free

Change for the better

So mote it be~

Repeat as needed.
