I am of the opinion that you should have a Food You Can Make. It's handy, and not like, for yourself, cause whatever that's a lot of work. But like if you wanna have someone over, or if you wanna bring food to someone who needs a little—you should have a Food You Can Make. Bonus points if it makes good leftovers.
You should tell me your Food, and if you don't have one you can have mine:
Meatloaf (but good) Recipe
1 lb ground protein (I use turkey, you can do beef, and Impossible type stuff works Fine™)
1 egg
1 onion (I use sweet yellow onions, 'bout 3/4 cup chopped, if you've got a mondo onion, save the extra for the sauce)
3/4 cup oatmeal (instant rolled oats)
1/2 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce (make it a double, you're not driving)
Salt and Pepper if you can handle more than 6 ingredients (I can't)
Preheat oven to 350º
Caramelize onions (just soften for ~15 minutes if you don't wanna bother getting the flavor there (I don't))
Mix ingredients in bowl, put it in an oven-safe glass dish (they make loaf pans, but you can put it in a small pyrex cake pan)
Bake 30 minutes (while its in the oven make da sauce)
Put like 3/4 cup ketchup in a sauce pot with the rest of the onion (minced if you wanna be fancy), 'bout 4 Tbsp vinegar (apple cider is my go-to) and 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce, heat but don't boil.
When your 30 minutes is up, pull the loaf (pour off any extra liquid) and top with like half the sauce
Bake 25 more minutes or until safe temp for ur protein (160ish for turkey)
Let stand 5 minutes, serve!
If you love your girlfriend clap your HANDS 👏 👏👏 *claps so hard my wrists snap in half*
