i made my very first edit ever and it's of... yes it's max verstappen!!! the poll fic is in progress, so for you guys, another sneaky peaky plus the edit :)

“Hey, [REDACTED],” comes a rough voice, and you startle so bad you nearly smack yourself in the face as you drop your hoodie. Max is awake, one hand scrubbing over his face. There’s stubble on his chin, which is new to you, and the circles under his eyes are worse than after his late-night sim rig sessions.

“Hey yourself,” you say, except it’s more of a croak as you realize your throat is parched. Max seems to realize the same, sitting up and grabbing a water bottle from the bag beside his chair. You catch a peek of your clothes in the bag, and you try to sit upright. “Did you—?” your question cuts off halfway when your throat decides it’s too dry to speak.

Max looks away as he opens the water bottle and hands it to you, the faintest pink dusting over his cheeks. You blink. Max? Blushing? It nearly doesn’t register, and you’re about to pass it off as a figment of your imagination.

“No,” he answers your unspoken question, though something about it makes it seem like he wishes it had been him as he looks back at you. “The nurse. He came in—” the way Max says he is so venomous you nearly miss the rest of the sentence— “and did it.”
