Mutanity - Introducing Gastro & Enzyme
Hey everyone,
If you're one of the few people seeing this at the time of writing, welcome, and I'm glad you could be here.
This comic is the result of a crazy idea I had on holiday in the Peak District about a mutant human whose stomach is a separate creature. This eventually branched out into its own story - one set long after a near-extinction event that had humanity rebuild using questionable genetics skills.
The result is a world inhabited by a mishmash of mutated humans with a colourful array of, let's say, distinguishing features, ranging from extra noses right the way up to tentacled wonders and amorphous blobs.
Mutanity gives a little insight into what it's like to live in this world, where cities are grown like plants and the fleshy pavements squish beneath your feet. It's full of quirky biotechnology like oddly-shaped screen displays made of chameleon-like skin that changes colour to show different images and little insectoid helpers that follow you around.
If that sounds like your idea of a good time, stick around, because we'll be slowly unraveling the mysteries of this alternate reality with little stories and sketches in comic form.
The first offering I have introduces Gastro, the reluctant stomach-human symbiosis participant I mentioned earlier. He holds a special place in my heart as one of my earliest character ideas, so it seems only fitting that things should kick off introducing him. Enjoy!
