          Slowing down a bit to line up a shot, letting her painmaker hatchet leave her fingertips in a precise shot. It whistled through the air and ripped through the shoulder of her prey. The large woman could feel her mouth watering as the taste of victory approached her. She knew how they thought how they moved, this was her favorite game, The world out of focus when she gained speed... 

  Dainty hands pressed down her skirt, dusting off any loose strands of dirt or hair. Almost repeatedly, it could have been her nerves. She intended to make a suggestion to her husband, for Katherine’s birthday. She was to be five this year and she was always asking for the same thing. It would be a big responsibility though she believed they could make it work. Currently she was off staying with Loretta’s mother, Janet’s, just to give her sometime apart. Loretta enjoyed being a stay at home mother and wife, now, but it could get exhausting at times. This gives her enough time to plan for the celebration though. 

   Hearing the front door unlock, Loretta untied her apron. Resting it on the counter top. Rushing out of the kitchen. Dinner was done anyways, it wasn’t as if she abandoned any of it.

 “ Welcome home, honey!”

  She chirped reaching for his fedora and soon after aiding him in removing his brown leather coat. Hanging that on the rack beside the front door, hat above. After doing her part she brushes a few stands of ginger locks behind her left ear. Blessing him with a warming smile. 

 “ Can we adopt a puppy? 

      Katherine wants one so badly-- 

            I hear her talk about it alone in her room at night. 

   It’s almost her birthday, Freddy--- can we? 

     It will be a great way to teach her responsibility,

             we could start her off young. 

                       Five is the perfect age!
