He’d woken that morning with a start, a sickening sensation of impeding dread swilling uncomfortably in his guts, as though whatever he’d eaten the night before hadn’t agreed with him on some level. Needless to say it wasn’t the best start to his day, but it was as he exits his small abode that he’d given cause to realise why. 

Was that a pear on his doorstep?

Cloud glowers at the offensive offering, a distasteful reminder that he was being stalked by something undesirable and malicious, even if the fruit itself was harmless. 

Still, didn’t stop him from kicking the thing as hard as he possibly good over the balcony edge and watching with a mild satisfaction as it exploded on the ground below, no doubt to become an easy meal for slum rats to feast on later. 

Damn he hated pears, particularly dis pear he’d just yeeted from his welcome mat.

Cloud knows he’s there, how could he not? The very essence of Sephiroth clung to him like a bad smell. Ignoring it was the best course of action, considering the silver fiend would no doubt expect any retaliation the blond could offer. 

That was until a pair of warms weigh down on his head, eliciting a rather irritated groan from beneath the gravity of the sheer audacity this guy had.
