Taking their places at the table, all the guests look towards Shelly for the reveal. Just as he had the last two times, he takes a piece of parchment from his jacket and begins reading aloud.

“I must admit, this was not my best work. I was running on a very small window of time, and I had also underestimated the late Ms. Meele, though not quite in the way you may have expected.

The clock was running once Cammy left her room. She arrived in the game room fifteen minutes early, just as I instructed. This was where I made my first mistake- I had assumed she followed my instructions out of fear of punishment, like how Furio died. But Cammy was not afraid when she stepped into the room. When I stepped out of my hiding spot behind the cabinet to stab her in the back, she fought back with no hesitation. I attempted to corner her between the pool table and the wall, and she was able to think quickly enough to grab a pool cue to fend me off. We ended up making quite the mess, disrupting the rug and knocking over the cue rack.

Unfortunately for Cammy, her lack of fear came with recklessness that I was able to easily exploit. She fumbled with her weapon and I took the opportunity to shove her into the pool table, leaving a lump on her head and a dent in the table. This disoriented her enough for me to push her to the ground with little effort. Even a weak person can achieve a successful submission hold if you know where to place your knees- one on the chest and stomach, one to the side to prevent the victim from turning. I decided that my knife was no longer viable- it was too small and thin to do real damage unless I wanted to make more of a mess, and I simply did not have the time to clean up after myself. So instead, I took the pool stick and pressed it against her throat to choke her. And oh, did dear Cammy fight. Despite her head wound, she clawed at my hands and the stick so desperately she even broke a nail. But it only takes a few minutes for a person to lose consciousness from lack of oxygen, and a few more for the brain to begin failing.

I let Cammy’s body do the rest of the work as I dusted myself off and placed the scratched-up cue stick behind the cabinet. I stabbed her in the eye after I was sure she was dead, just to make things a little more interesting to solve. Since her heart had already stopped, there was little bleeding. At this point, I was nearly out of time, so I stopped by her room to dispose of my gloves and the knife. Perhaps I was a little sloppy towards the end, leaving her blood on the door handle like that.

This was a very close round. Save for a few people, everyone had the pieces of the puzzle in line, and I would like to commend all of you for your efforts. Now, you may open your cards to see your fate. Best of luck, my dear guests.”

“Mr. Crescend had the best case this round,” Shelly says, but he is interrupted when a ruckus erupts from the other end of the table. Luke has leapt out of his seat, knocking it over in the process.

“This has to be a mistake!” he shouts, clutching a red stained card in one hand and brandishing a finger at Morgan and Yanni with the other. “Why are there three Scared cards?!”

Will: Ah yes *pulls out gun* bang bang

Will and Nico: Be gay, do crime

Nico: *looks at list that only reads "Kill Percy Jackson"*

Two people had died in this game, and yet Yanni felt barely more than a twinge of annoyance as he observed the aftermath of the second reveal.

Cammy had locked herself in her room, refusing to come out except for meals. Morgan, on the other hand, had taken the opposite approach and clung to anyone who would give her the chance. Yanni might have agreed with her strategy, if not for the way she refused to admit she was doing it.

“Afraid? Me? Whatever are you talking about?” she said, hand on her cheek in a strained look of innocence. “I only wanted to speak to Mr. Atmey about the benefits of herbal supplements. We specialize in a variety of those in Kurain Village, you see.”

“I could do with some herbal supplements,” Daryan muttered. Yanni agreed with the thought, but he was loathe to bring any more accusations of ‘mental impairment’ on himself. Fifteen years of slander was more than enough, thank you.

When Yanni woke up the next morning, there was a small card lying by his door. Written inside were the words “You have been invited to join us in the game room at noon for a game of pool.” Asking around revealed that everyone else had received the same card, including Morgan and Cammy.

“Yeah, I got the damn card,” she had said, her voice muffled from behind her locked door. “I’ll be there at noon or whatever, now go away.”
