I vaguely remember thinking that most girl groups sang at too high a pitch and sounded like cats. I dimly recall my obsessive Shawol days and still consider myself a card carrying Czennie. I wear my Atiny bracelets. But ya’ll… I like it all.

I like it ALL now.

I like the cheesy stuff and the gritty stuff and the popstatic and the bombastic. I like the mellow songs and the hyper songs, the ballads and the bangers. I like Korean rap, hip hop, trot, rock, and the funky experimental stuff. Girl groups, boy bands, soloists, and collaborations. I realize a lot of the stuff I like now is not even considered kpop but I’m keeping it all under the umbrella term anyways.

Maybe around 2023 I went full tilt boogie no holds barred just toss it all in endless shuffle mode? I dunno exactly.

I listened to the new SHINee album yesterday for a few hours. Then listened the album they put out before that, and the album before that… but then I popped back over the mix, added some new songs from the releases this week, and happily blissed out.

I just really like Kpop.

It may sound selfish and objectifying, but it does not hurt them or require any extra effort from them. I bet they are glad to know they - just their existence - is providing comfort, joy and confidence to fans.

Yes, you have your ults and love them with all your heart. But sometimes, that love can feel a little too much. Keeping up with one single group and all of their activities may be a lot to handle. Just life may come in the way.

And you just may find peace and comfort unexpectedly, in a person you had not paid much attention to lately. Find your way back to them, be reminded of the unique traits that make them them and that you hold dear to your heart.

If you are struggling, feeling down, wiped out, exhausted or just in need of a pause, try looking around you. Look at your groups and find the silent, steady ones. The serious ones with smooth voices and rare smiles that make flowers grow.

Let them guide you to stability, a steady flow, away from the ups and downs and thrills and worries of the everyday life. Settle in to recharge, just for a moment. I am sure they will feel your gratitude in return.

fandoms: i am big into kpop and stan enhypen, illit, cortis, bts, red velvet, and le sserafim (ik… it’s a lot). i also love watching different anime like jjk, beastars, and death note. i also watch other shows like heated rivalry, all of us are dead, and teen wolf. besides kpop, i listen to a lot sabrina carpenter, megan thee stallion, and doja cat. don’t even get me started on dylan o’brien either…

kpop: i figured it needed its own section. i stan all of those groups above (obviously). my ult group is enhypen but my ult bias is wonhee. she is just so adorable! my bias in the other groups are: enhypen - sunoo, illit - wonhee, cortis - juhoon, bts - jungkook, red velvet - irene, and le sserafim - chaewon.

posting: i’m not to sure what i’ll be posting here yet… fanfics? maybe, if i get the courage to write one. mood boards? probably. i don’t know yet but if you have any ideas i’d love to know!
