This year's Mullen Thanksgiving was a very good day. Jack had to work at Mobile on the Run (he gets holiday pay rates, so I can't really blame him for wanting to work it), but Alisha and Delaney went with me to Mom's house.

There was so much good food. The usual side dishes of corn casserole, green beans, and hot rolls. And, of course, my favorite... cornbread stuffing. But, there was no turkey this year. The turkey did not thaw in time to cook today. So, instead, we had ham.

I LOVE ham, but I typically think of ham as being Christmas food.

Oh Well. The ham and everything else was delicious, and I suppose we will be having turkey for Christmas.

After everyone had had filled themselves full of food, and had left just enough room for pie, we all settled down to visit, catch up and share stories, and some even gathered around a puzzle at the kitchen table.

I had hoped to get family photos of every group there, but Aaron and April slipped out the door a bit sooner than I had anticipated, and I only managed to get a quick photo of Steve's family and Sarah (mom) and Jerry.

The UCLA Bruins and the Virginia Tech Hokies both fired their head coaches this week. UCLA fired DeShaun Foster after a loss to the New Mexico Lobos, and Virginia Tech fired their coach, Brent Pry, after a loss to Old Dominion.
