made this weirdo yesterday. saw a bunch of really cool ewers from a recent show on insta and wanted to get back into the pouring shit game. will see if this prototype holds out during the next glaze firing (I'm betting on some serious warping here)
a stein.
a cordyceps stein.
🍄💎🍺
it doesn't need a name and that's fine because i'm probably keeping this one 💅
no idea when i'll be able to get a web store up and running for the stockpile of recent work taking up space and soon to be doubled with the glaze firing being prepped for the beginning of next week but never say never! funny how you need money to make money, right?
*awkward anti-capitalist laughter*
NF;SF V. IV Cordyceps Teacup #2, august 2025
wheel thrown, alerted and assembled porcelain with hollow-thrown knob handles. oxidation fired to cone 9 [2300 F] with clear liner glaze and multiple zinc silicate crystalline glazes.
now some good shit:
a new copper and iron glaze i developed!
probably redid this recipe 5x to fine tune the chemistry according to all the research available before trying this. quite happy. here's how it keeps the porcelain translucency
oof. so nice. stable af too.

first peek of the Great Reveal™
😁
processing the results, only one minor glaze spill, and from what can be noticed, everything survived, even if the glaze test is absolute garbage.
stay tuned for highlights and commentary on new tests!
*edited because grammar fail #peek
pulled this new cordyceps mug out of the kiln three days ago, along with 11 other mugs, a bowl, two vases and 30 new recipe tests!
but this one's my favorite (don't tell the rest 🤫)
very excited about this one, an attempt at lowering the coe (coefficient of expansion, aka the rate of a glaze recipe expanding and contracting upon firing, resulting in the amount of crazing [the cracks you'll find on many glazes]) on my og wood ash crystalline glaze with some oxide adjustments.
and it did so well being stable!
and was super polite with my jabba the hutt teapot which totally survived:
aaahhhhhh so pleased with this
so glad to be having success with the wood ash recipes!!
