I keep saying "I don't know where the Madara fixation came from" but I honestly do, and it's the fact that he was able to impress me by being completely batshit and that's enough to want to get me interested in whatever's going on in a character's head. That and I like his relationship with Hashirama (read: they make me want to walk over a ledge).
He's also a mix of "they were right" and "they were just fucked up and I enjoyed watching them burn" to me. While I was definitely a lot more on his side than Hashirama's, there's always a sort of satisfaction in me to watch characters who abandon their humanity and fly to close to the sun fall in just about the most pathetic way imaginable. Poetic justice? Or something? I don't have the words to really describe it. I just like it.
