i can’t stop thinking about how kate’s dynamic with her mom will be affected by the way the series ended

kate’s relationship with her mom is so different from her relationship with her dad in the comics. her mom cares so deeply about kate that she’s willing to quit against kingpin. kate’s dad (comics) buckled.

kate’s last words to her mom as she was being taken away was “i love you”

how does eleanor feel about all that???

like??? i can imagine that she’s both incredibly proud and hurt by it all. like, that’s the daughter she raised. she raised her daughter so well that she’s a literal hero!!! she’s rolling around with an avenger! fought against a fucking mafia!! that’s her little girl!

she raised kate so well that kate stands by her values and her sense of justice so strongly that she sends her own mother to jail.

eleanor must be so proud of kate but also so hurt by the fact that kate chose that justice over her. kate chose her values over her own mother.

it must be such a strange feeling, knowing that the child you raised grew up to be the hero who saves the city from villains, while you aged on to be the villain in your child’s story

and the thing is, mcu!kate loves her mom!! she literally said it as she was being cuffed and arrested! mcu!kate would 1000% visit her mom in jail just to check in.

kate would ask how her mom’s doing, maybe tell her about how her own uni classes are going, maybe tell her about how jack or the company is, ask her if she’s getting help. kate would sit through the awkward, maybe emotional silence if it means getting to see her mother healthy and safe.
