Many biomes in one day on this 6hr Mt Macedon hike. The wind was unrelenting, the trees were loud, the views were incredible, and the friendships enriching. Sometimes you have to stop, close your eyes and breathe, to fully absorb and acknowledge the importance of the good people in your life. Close Encounter DSC_6142 by BlueberryAsh Of the Foxy kind. I had quite an amazing experience with a fox on Friday. My sister and I visited Mt Macedon for the autumn colour. At the top of the Mountain therr is a memorial cross for ANZACs and a picnic area, restaurant and walks. As we were leaving my sister said-you better pull over slowly, you are going to want to photograph this. There was a little red fox, eating a mushroom and hanging around a picnic table full of people. It was wary but got very close. On the occasions I have seen foxes, the minute they get wind of you, they run. I imagine it was starving and wondered if it has something to do with the closure of the Park then its reopening this week. Perhaps it was relying on scraps and waste from picnickers and the restaurant, all of which have been closed for a few months. I imagine it is not going to end well for this fox, especially being so habitualised to people and being in a park where they are generally culled. https://flic.kr/p/2j2QJqt
