In the center of the town of Nottingham, there was a great spectacle. All of the people had gathered to the middle, surrounding a large stage that had been placed right where everyone could see, even from the shops that had been maneuvered into a large circle within the market.

Upon the stage was a woman, chained and dirty from grime and blood with Sheriff Vaisey standing by her side with a ruthless sneer. When Sir Guy of Gisborne laid eyes upon the woman, his jaw clenched.

"People of Nottingham, today you shall witness a great achievement. Today, we destroy another link to that foul Robin Hood's schemes: Lady (Y/n)!"

People murmured in shock as Vaisey whispered something to the angry woman, and she spat in the sheriff's face, making him curl his lips back in disgust. With no remorse, he backhanded the woman, forcing her to drop to the ground before shakily standing once more. Gisborne approached the stage, exclaiming.

"What is the meaning of this? Explain yourself immediately."

Vaisey chuckled, gesturing as he spoke.

"Ah, my apologies, Gisborne. It seems your taste in women has fallen ill. This woman was found with Robin Hood and his gang of thieves! She aided their escape!"

Gisborne frowned before turning to (Y/n), his blue eyes angry and pained.

"This isn't true. You will look at me and say so."

However, (Y/n) stayed quiet for a moment. Turning her gaze away, Gisborne became angry, outbursting.

"Explain yourself! Say that it is lies, and I will release those chains!"

(Y/n) glanced up at Gisborne, shaking her head.

"It is not. I aided Robin Hood into and out of Nottingham."

Betrayal flashed across Gisborne's face, and his fists clenched. Shaking subtly, Gisborne hissed.

"Why? Why would you do this to me? How could you betray me like this?"

The woman frowned, exclaiming.

"Our people deserve more, Gisborne! They don't deserve to live in poverty and tyranny while this bastard of a sheriff sits upon riches while we starve! Our people are dying, Gisborne!"

Sheriff Vaisey then snapped, yanking on her chains to make the woman fall to her knees.

"Enough! Your lies have come to an end. Let this day be a reminder that anybody who sides with Robin Hood will be a traitor and will be punished accordingly."

Although Gisborne's fingers itched to reach towards the woman he loved, to save her from her fate, Gisborne could do nothing but atand and watch as Sheriff Vaisey raised his sword.

"Any last words?"

(Y/n) was silent for a moment before she looked at Gisborne.

"I dream of the day our people can live in peace and flourish. I hope that you, Sir Guy of Gisborne, can take pity and-"

The sheriff didn't let her finish, and so the chained maiden became silent, her eyes straying up towards the sky while Gisborne's eyes closed.
