I saw this post before that was basically like “‘Omg, sapphic!’ Look who can’t say lesbian😂” Basically making fun of people for using the term sapphic.
I am sapphic. I am not lesbian. I think I’m just tired of people saying that they’re one and the same, invalidating any sapphics that aren’t lesbians. I’m sick of people acting like sapphic is some bad term used to not talk about lesbians, when it’s just an umbrella term used to include many, many people. This also plays into a lot of bi and pan-erasure, but the hate for the term sapphic (at least, that I’ve seen bc I’m on one of the hell-sides of the internet) is so genuinely baffling.
This is sapphicphobia.
The erasure & invalidation of every nonlesbian sapphic is actually gross, & has roots in rfeminism/lesbian separatism.
