havingbeenbreathedout's questions (which are so creative and amazing i literally had to answer them immediately):
Imagine you’re a character in a fairy tale, and were taught by a benign old crone to sew yourself, with great difficulty and tremendous labor, a magical piece of clothing (e.g. a protective cloak, invisibility armor, a lace shawl that would let you fly). “Clothing” can be interpreted however you like.
(seriously read these questions, i put them under a read more because i am so chatty! but. ohhh man they are really good!!)
What piece of clothing would your garment be based on (e.g., hat, poncho, sparkly body-stocking, etc.)? Â I am picturing a skin-tight garment that i'd pull on like a coat, but that would cling to me without any buttons or closures. it would hew very closely to my form, almost like a dress. but it wouldn't be tight at all.Â
What would it do (what would be its magic power)? it would allow me to shift my form in any way i desired, minutely or drastically. my face would stay basically the same in terms of features (so it's not a full shape-shifting garment) but the rest of my body can change shape in any number of ways.Â
What materials would go into its construction? the leaves of gingkos and japanese maples, magnolia blossoms, elaborate spiderwebs after a rainstorm, mud, pu-erh tea, 13 hairs from a unicorn's mane, paint, kitchen twine, titanium, and my memories of the light in the eyes of every person i've ever loved. Â
How long would it take you to construct? 25 years initially, but it'd get tattered with wear and i'd have to patch it once a year for at least a week or two solid. snatching up the necessary materials and working feverishly to keep it in repair.Â
What sorts of trial(s) would you face during its construction? a loss of memory. the doldrums of despair and stuck-in-a-rut-ness. a fear of my body. the terror of the possibility of change. for one year, i'd chase the unicorn to get those hairs. i'd go blind from chasing it, from using its horn as a beacon to guide me, before i finally sat down to rest and it came to me.Â
What would you plan to do with it? (Why would you choose the form you chose?) i'd plan to be strong and move through the world taking what i wanted, powerfully and without compromise.Â
What would you actually do with it? become a thief, stealing time and days with slight changes in my body. slip into a non-existent slice of a body moving without being seen. wear a boy's body with ease. float along the river with breasts bobbing and belly fat and peaceful, content.Â
What would be its fatal flaw, the chink in its armor (Ă la Achilles’ heel)? the garment is not the disguise i thought it would be. i can't hide from who i am. my cover, no matter how deep, is always blown.Â
Would you have to give anything up, in order to use it? each time i patch it, i lose a little time. past or present, it can be either. i wouldn't notice until i'd had it for a while and loved it too much to let it go, but slowly my memory of who i was would fade, and each time it was revealed to me would be a shocking surprise.Â
Would you end up regretting your choice? Or would it non-stop awesome? Or somewhere in between? i'd certainly regret it. everything magical has a price.Â
Who would write the novel or direct the film based on your adventures with your magical garment? i am pretty sure this feels like one of the fairy tales i read this summer in a book by kelly link, so i think she would certainly be the writer. and i think i'd like peter jackson to direct the movie. or an unknown lady director who's out there waiting for her first break.Â
See? weren't those questions SO GOOD?!
here are mine. forgive that they aren't nearly as awesome.Â
1. What is your earliest memory?Â
2. Who was your best friend at age 5? Do you still know them?Â
3. What kind of kid were you at 10? What sorts of things did you love/hate/wear/play with/etc?
4. Just how awkward were your puberty years?Â
5. Did you date in high school? Do you wish now that you had/hadn't?
6. When you finished high school, did you have a clear sense of what you wanted to do or be?Â
7. How did that work out for you after high school?Â
8. Tell me about your 21st birthday.Â
9. Astrologically speaking, your saturn return usually occurs between the ages of 27/28-30/31, and can include some pretty life changing events. What did you experience during those years, and (how) do you feel it shaped or changed you? Â
10. Do you believe in mid-life crises? Have you had one?
11. Where do you see yourself at age 65? Still working? Traveling the country in an RV? Tell me your fantasy for "retirement age," whatever that means nowadays.Â

Questions Asked:
1) What’s your favorite candle scent? Â
Pine. Â I like candles that smell like nature.
2) What’s the worst vacation you’ve ever been on?
When I was fourteen my family went camping. Â Someone at the campsite had left stakes in the ground and while I was walking around barefoot I ripped my toe open. My mother said I should get stitches, but because we were on vacation, too bad for me. Â So I didn't get to do anything except mend the fire since it hurt too bad to walk much and swimming would involve an open wound in lake water. Â
Another one that was just as bad, but not necessarily a vacation, was going with the music department to Hershey Park in eighth grade.  We had an adjudication and then spent the day in the park. My mother came and made up that she got whiplash on a ride and insisted it was my fault. She had me run around the park looking for our doctor who was also a chaperon as his kids were also in the music program (and if you know anything about my past you can draw some conclusions about that).  Turns out that really nothing was wrong with her and she just wanted me to cry the whole day and feel terrible.
3) Are you now or have you ever been a vegetarian?
No. Â Sometimes I eat vegetarian food, but it tastes good, so why not?
4) What’s your favorite episode of Sherlock?
It's hard to pick, but The Reichenbach Fall. Â I know it's full of feelings, but I love seeing how much more human Sherlock has become and I absolutely love the opera references. Â I also love anything that has Sherlock playing the violin.
5) Do you have siblings?
Yes. Â I have one brother and three sisters. Â They are all younger than I am.
6) If you could snap your fingers and change one thing about your life, what would you change?
I'd stop hating myself. Â I don't often hate myself, but I learned to hate myself while growing up and I wish I could just stop feeling so down on myself at times.
7) What’s your “guilty pleasure” TV show?
I never feel guilty about TV. Â I watch a small number of shows these days. Â Most shows that people consider guilty pleasures are not even a little interesting to me.
8) What do you eat for breakfast?
Usually fruit or a larabar with tea. Â I can't eat certain things in the morning because of the medications I have to take at that time and I also can't eat gluten so that really puts a kink in normal breakfast food options. Â I also can't stomach eggs on their own so sometimes I really just have leftovers for breakfast if I want something more substantial.
9) If you could have any animal for a pet, what would you have?
Horse. Â I've always wanted a horse since as long as I can remember. Â I miss riding regularly as well.
10) How many languages do you know?
English and some Spanish. Â I'm not as fluent in Spanish as I'd like to be.
11) What do you call carbonated beverages (soda, pop, etc)?
Soda. Â Sometimes I call it tonic when I'm with my grandmother because they call it that where she lives.
My Questions:
1. If you could spend one week in any part of the world where would it be?
2. Coffee, tea or something else?
3. Do you celebrate when you reach a goal? Â How do you celebrate?
4. What's one thing you wish you had learned in school but didn't?
5. What's one of the best gifts you've ever given? Â What's one of the best gifts you've ever received?
6. Would you rather have a quiet evening in with a few close friends or a night out with a bunch of people (friends and/or acquaintances)?
7. What brought you to tumblr?
8. What is one book/show/movie that you wish more people knew about because you're absolutely certain they would love it?
9. Has your life every been changed by someone you don't know?
10. What's one thing that always cheers you up?
11. What was one of your hobbies growing up? Â Did you keep up with it?
things I would do if I met you: give you a giant hug, demand to see your crafting room, and then ask which Johnlock fics are your favorites. :)
All wonderful ideas! I'm big on hugs. Sadly, I don't have a crafting room at the moment since I moved in with a friend a couple of months ago. She is sooo obsessive about what goes in this place. I'm trying to slowly sneak my crafting supplies out of storage while she's at work, LOL. There will definitely be a crafting room when I get my own place again. Favorite Johnlock fics? Perhaps I'll have that down to a reasonable list by the time we ever meet. Right now I have a crazy amount of fics bookmarked.Â
Oh my gosh, thanks for the follow! I'm a crafter too! What do you make?
You're welcome! I'm sorry, I thought I was already following you :) Â Oh lord, I make a little bit of everything, LOL. Craft and hobby stores in the area know my face by now. Lately I've been trying to get back into sewing. Been doing some small projects like decorative pillows for my living room, etc. Trying to buckle down and get started on some baby things for a friend of mine. I have found all kinds of grand ideas off the internet for bibs and blankets and such. During the colder months I like to crochet scarves and blankets. What about you?Â
