❞ HISWEETHEART !! Oh gosh – you have to know the Efteling is like a second home to me, I’ve been going there for twenty years, at least once a year and I still love every second spent there. It’s one of my favorite places and I just can go on and on about it. So, it’s hard to pick a favorite thing ?? I love riding all of the rollercoasters – Joris en de Draak, Baron 1898 & De Vliegende Hollander are definitely ones I need to have been on or I’ll be disappointed in my visit. But, while I’m a massive lover of the adrenaline rush that wild rides give me, to me the Efteling is so much more than just the fun rides. I adore strolling through the fairytale forest, looking at the faiytales I probably have seen over a dozen times and still get excited about spotting a new detail ( I’ve read books about the Efteling and I am extremely interested in everything regarding it – I gather information about small details because I love walking around and randomly throwing pieces of information about something on my family as we walk through the park… They basically call me their private guide already and I just love, love, love getting to tell them something new I discovered/learned every time we go ). I love how there is so much to learn and keep learning about its history, the rides and the stories about the rides, the fairytales and all the details that are hidden all around the park. I love how the entire park has its own aesthetic and they never, ever stray from it – they’re their own thing and they’re original and authentic and to me, no park can ever measure up to that. I also love how they tend to pick themes for a new ride that are like, old myths that belong to the location of where the Efteling is or The Netherlands in general. That, once again, shows how authentic they are. I really appreciate and cherish the small moments, really: having a hot chocolate in an Efteling cup or watching the pre-show at Pandadroom ( which is closing down for a new movie, sadly ) with the song and the WWF images… Because it takes me back to when I was younger and it was one of my favorite attractions to go on. I love the music and watching Aquanura which always, without fail, gives me goosebumps and makes me tear up because another amazing day at the park is ending and I have to go home again. And I love that I can simply say ‘ see you next year ‘ because going there has become a tradition – I would never, ever want to skip a year !! A lot of people often ask me why I keep going back and what it is I love about it, how I don’t get tired of it… And to be honest, I don’t actually know. It’s just a lot of small things that I love about it and all the memories I’ve made there so far that just draw me in time and time again. The Efteling is just like a home to me – I simply love being there. And I can talk about it for hours and hours – so thank you so much for this question. The Efteling is 100% the way to my heart, haha !! Xoxo
