Though we’re drifting a tad from the main thrust of that noted post (double standards on cherry-picking and demonization), I will indulge.

First, a look at certain relevant excerpts from Marc Lépine’s own suicide note from December 6th, 1989:

“Because I have decided to send the feminists, who have always ruined my life, to their Maker. “ “…I consider myself a rational erudite …” “…the feminists have always enraged me. They want to keep the advantages of women (e.g. cheaper insurance, extended maternity leave preceded by a preventative leave, etc.) while seizing for themselves those of men.” “Thus it is an obvious truth that if the Olympic Games removed the Men-Women distinction, there would be Women only in the graceful events. So the feminists are not fighting to remove that barrier. They are so opportunistic they do not neglect to profit from the knowledge accumulated by men through the ages.“

And now, some fine sentiments from a consciously selected variety of Men’s Rights Activists:

1. Paul Elam, A Voice For Men founder “AVfM regards feminists, manginas, white knights and other agents of misandry as a social malignancy. We do not consider them well intentioned or honest agents for their purported goals and extend to them no more courtesy or consideration than we would clansmen [sic], skinheads, neo Nazis or other purveyors of hate.“

2. Dr. Helen Smith, forensic psychologist, PJ Media: “Liberals' need to denigrate men and privilege women is now common place.”

3. Numerous Youtube penny-polemicists, including Phil Mason, a.k.a. Thunderf00t: “Feminism poisons EVERYTHING”

And here’s a freebie - Jean-Claude Rochefort, Quebecois blogger: “Quebec feminists have always had a huge desire to control information -- which they can now do, because Canadian media are so full of them. Obviously for them, the rights, wishes and demands of men and fathers should remain buried under their day-to-day censorship, and this is precisely what induced Marc to pick up that gun!”

Naturally, some MRA’s will not want to be associated with Lépine, and perhaps a portion won’t even like to acknowledge the ideological similarities between Lépine and the others quoted above.

So why then would it be considered good form to hold up extreme or misguided feminists as representative of the whole? You might only think of feminism as “Big Red” or “TrigglyPuff”, blissfully unaware of figures like Wendy McElroy or Susie Bright. 

Jeff Sessions: the most deluded thing anyone ever said to me is probably worse, but I can’t think of it right now. What does come to mind is that a grown woman told me a couple of weeks ago that girls who haven’t had sex yet can’t use tampons when on their period because their vagina is still ‘sealed’ by their hymen. For real. ????

Donald Trump: the worst person I personally know is probably this TA at university who is some kind of Men’s Rights activist and spews all sorts of nonsense about ‘females’ and their place. Once, on a school trip, a girl got so sick she had to be brought to the hospital and was held there for five days, missing her flight back and everything. We were all in shock and trying to help, while he did nothing and afterwards he loudly complained that she had interrupted his sleep that night, with the ambulance and everything. How narcissistic can a person get???
