20. Do you prefer writing AUs or canon fics?

I write canon fics. Predominantly post canon while mostly ignoring any additional source material not from the show. So no ATLA comics canon in my ATLA fics.

When I do write AUs they are canon divergent fics, where I choose some critical moment in a show to alter the outcome. My goal with those is to get as far away from canon as quickly as possible while still feeling like it’s the same world. I want what I change to alter everything that follows from there.

24. How do you choose whose POV to write in?

Honestly, I don’t give it too much thought. A lot of my fics are single perspective or weigh heavily from the main characters point of view.

My Catradora fic, Reassignment, is the exception. It’s closer to an ensemble story than I have told before. Usually perspective is chosen to fit the plot. The characters are all mostly doing their own thing apart from the other. So I flit between them as needed to show the plot happening. Trying to make Catra’s and Adora’s perspective take up over 50% of any chapter.

Catra and Adora are where it gets a bit more tricky. As they are closely linked in what they are doing. While trying to keep it more even between the two I alternate according to who is having the most interesting thoughts about the other.

30. How much do you edit your fics?  Do you edit as you write or wait until you finish the first draft?

This has changed for me as I have grown more confident and comfortable in writing. At first I was so nervous to post that I had to get it over with, just write than post with the bare minimum.

Now I aim to do a minimum of four drafts. A rough draft, a rewrite, and then two finishing passes. The rewrite is where most of the stories emotion and coherency comes in as I worry less about getting the idea down and rather unifying and adding interest.

There’s some editing as I write but it’s kept to a minimum. Trying to capture the fleeting good idea mostly. Not trying to polish sentence structure or word choice. I have to keep momentum in adding more if I ever want to finish writing and not rework a couple paragraphs over and over again.

My blog was marked mature? For how long has that been going on? I reblog a few erotic posts but nothing major. Well if I’m going to be marked mature maybe I should share more pictures of the nude statues that I paint.

1: what's your favourite kitchen appliance?

The Air Fryer. Probably one of my go to for reheating food or keeping something crispy as I heat it up.

20: what's your favourite beverage?

Ginger Ale. The spicier the better for me. If it isn’t burning my throat as I drink it is it really worth it?

I have been getting into alcohol recently (grew up Mormon so it was never a part of my life) and have enjoyed trying Gin. Been trying out a bunch of fun mixes recently.

25: would you rather own a dishwasher or a laundry machine if you could only have one or the other?

Oof, I would hate going without either. But the laundry machine is a must have for me. I don’t really like going about in public, so a would utilize a public laundry way too little and end up wearing clothes until they are properly filthy and far past any sense of propriety.

8. What cleaning product do you swear by?

does a sponge count or like. sponge type thing because this fucker is my best friend

OH ACTUALLY WAIT THERE'S ALSO ZEP CHERRY BOMB WHICH IS MY NEW FAVOURITE HAND SOAP it does the heavy duty for getting paint and oil and crap off and it smells like cherry candy while you wash but the smell doesn't linger too long and it leaves my hands feeling really nice after

14. How often do you take baths?

im probably a 50/50 split between baths and showers tbh, though lately its been more like 80/20 in the favor of baths? generally i am catching up on years of not being able to have a comfortable bath bc i was too tall for my bathtub in the parents house (it was so shallow) and even the one in my first apartment was shallow but i fuckin love the tub in my current place it is SO deep. i lov bubbly bath

31. Do you still own your first car?

8: A series you haven’t played but are interested in trying

A SERIES, you say?

Hmm… Well, I want to play Metal Gear, but I’m always a bit turned off by the memishness, high production values, and resulting high price points.

I’ve always wanted to play Guilty Gear since I’m a fan of BlazBlue, but I’ve got zero idea where to start to get an idea of the plot.

I also have the first Little Nightmares and the first two Dangan Ronpa games, but I have yet to play either of those. For different reasons.

I think thats it for series specifically, but i have a bunch of singular games that I have, that I need to get to playing.

12: A character you particularly like in the game you’re currently playing

I had to ask myself “What the heck am I currently playing” because right now I haven’t actually played much on account of alternating between being tired and doing schoolwork or life things, so I’ll go with things I’m technically in the middle of, which there are a few:

Robert from The Inner World. A point and click protagonist whose primary characteristic is naivety, it’s kind of refreshing. He’s a very sweet guy.

Aaaand also V. from Devil May Cry 5, Because of spoilery reasons, and also because he’s a piece of shit edgelord who has the fashion sense of a mosh pit, and PROBABLY smells like one too. What an absolute mess of a human. God I love him.

19: A game you started up for the first time and you knew from the start it was going to be great

This is tough. Because generally, I go into a game with some reservations, unless it’s an indie sequel like The Inner World 2, or Lethal League: Blaze.
