@clandestinare asked: Late in the evening, an unmarked ship would dock at a cove, hidden away from the town's port. Only visible from the highest point of the land—where the home of a certain lord's daughter just so happened to be. There WERE rumors about sightings of pirates going around... but the ship seemed to be void of such people. Could it just have drifted in, perhaps?
She’d lost all track of time while engrossed in a good book by her favorite chair. By the time she realized how late into the night it’d gotten, the candle had melted to a third of its size. Marking the page and setting the tome aside, Alice got up and stretched, her tiredness finally making itself known now that she no longer had something to distract her. Taking off the warm, comfortable coat that’d been keeping her from the night’s cold, she was making her way to the bed when she heard the window opening. Then a noise that sounded suspiciously like steps.
There was a hunting rifle hidden just under her bed, as well as several blades all around her chambers. But she didn’t have time to reach any of them before a drawling, heavy accent told her to behave or else. Keeping calm, Alice followed his lead - but not without pointing out that she wouldn’t be climbing out the window. Allowed to retrieve her coat and wrap it safely around herself, she ended up guiding her kidnapper through the quiet house, not alarming anyone as they left through the back door.Â
She remained composed even as they walked through the woods - it was a familiar scenery to her even int he dead of night, and it wasn’t the first time she was in this sort of situation either. Struggling wouldn’t do her any good. Most likely, they would be asking for ransom, and hurting her would be counter productive. Her best bet was to stay quiet and wait to meet the person in charge. Now that she was old enough to truly understand her own circumstances, this might even work in her favor.Â
