So, more Bloody Forever Mouri Art.

In my series there are three main vampires. Angel (Technically Kogoro night Alter ego.), the Crimson King and Kogoro. But with a slight twist.

Angel and Crimson King work more like tradition vampires. Hurt with Holy Water (Angel more like just hot water but still) and other things.

Kogoro is where it is a bit different. He is human but a vampire (not a Dhampir). Kogoro for the most part is just his normal self as a human. Yet with all the upsides of vampire life (Immortality, Super Strength etc) with none of the draw backs. Can be in sunlight (maybe sunburns a little easier), Holy water is just warm water etc. The only downside is his feral moments.

See Kogoro and Angel are coin egos. Kogoro is the day life, and Angel is his night life (with no Kogoro Memories). Nether knows what the other does. The problem with this is Angel if he doesn't drink blood or eat Yokai meat he starves Kogoro's side. Kogoro normally doesn't get hungry unless this happens (gotten to a point where he eats normal food more as a habit then for food). If left unfed too long. Kogoro can slip into feral mode. Vampire who can only tell friend from food. Otherwise, your shit out of luck. He may see Officer Chiba and understand friend but the poor criminal or victim near him however. If Kogoro doesn't know them on a deep personal level (family or friend (friend range from Takagi to Yokomizo brothers)) they are as good as prey to him.

What is worse is this only calms down once his stuffed himself. Human, yokai or animal meat\blood. It doesn't end until he is full for what he needs. It also all depends on how long Angel has been starving himself. Kogoro loses total control during this. Something tries to keep him in line, but it doesn't hold Kogoro morals when he is feral. Kogoro only knows this happens because he will start to come around. He will often be confused or in a cold sweet. The only way to tell if he is feral is if he is full yellow and red eyes.

Eyes level (:

Normal eyes or Red Iris Only: Kogoro and Angel

Yellow with Red Iris: Kogoro in feral mode (can still tell friend from food) and Angel is just pissed off (still under control but having a hard time).

Pure Red: Kogoro or Angel the good is gone for the time being. Until can be hurt bad enough to go into rest form (not showed yet) or the reason for the rage is gone. (Think Full Demon Inuyasha)

It creates an aesthetic and a vibe that is just so interesting to me, particularly in Death Comes to Time. I feel like so often, in media, when science fiction and fantasy are merged it’s the fantasy that sort of takes over as the dominant genre everyone sees, but it’s different here. The science fiction still stands proud and strong while the fantasy adds this mist around the science fiction. A fog that almost stays at ground level, just making everything a bit more mysterious, a bit hazy in the background. It’s a blend I absolutely adore.

Thinking about it now, I think it’s why I love the Mouri and the Temple of Atropos from Flux so much too. Of course, it’s not the same level as Death Comes to Time, but it does add a fantasy element that brings back some of that mysterious fog to it all.

It makes me wish the Time Lords could’ve become that in New Who. Perhaps instead of bringing Gallifrey back it was discovered that, like the Daleks and their Genesis Ark, there was a group of Time Lords who had escaped the Time War and were hidden away somewhere waiting for their moment to return. Or maybe it wasn’t a life boat, but an ancient prison. Sent away into the Void and now returning through a weakness in space and, upon realizing they are the only Time Lords left in existence (apart from the Doctor and sometimes the Master) they take it upon themselves to be a new High Council.

There’s only 10 of them or something, and all of them are criminals of high threat for one reason or another, and their egos have grown and their minds have broken due to all that time imprisoned that they become more like the mysterious and eerie Time Lords of War Games and with a bit more of a fantasy edge like in Death Comes to Time.
