Plus, even Skip fans barely mention this since it's right before The Cruel Shining Light of Heaven. (This is like if your favorite good-but-not-amazing episode came right before Heaven Sent.)

It's like Moffat read/listened to all of the Skip stuff after the whole Night of the Doctor name fiasco. Not only can you see the inspiration in Boom, but people have also pointed how series 9 feels very Cruel Shining Light to Big Bang arc.
