Roses Competition - Library Plus Integrated Campaign Presentation Boards
These are presentation boards we submitted yesterday for the Roses competition. Out of the whole project, this was one of the hardest things to finish because I find it really hard to put my thoughts into words and summarise the concept, so it takes me a fair while to do these. Also, because I have quite high standards when it comes to design, I become a bit of a perfectionist, so I make sure every bit of text is formatted correctly (kerning , spacing, etc) and is visually pleasing to the eye as a whole with the images. I believe that if you're trying to pitch a concept to a company, it's important to make sure the presentation boards look as professional and sleek as your ideas. Otherwise, the customer might think you don't care about tiny details and deliver sloppy work.
The skills I learned in the 3-month intensive graphic design course in Shillington College which I did previously before university and my two month internship at MeriMedia (design agency) in London, definitely have come in handy at this point in the brief. Things like formatting text, using rulers and marks in Adobe InDesign for the boards, spacing in between letters, and small short cuts I've learned which make it easier for me to work faster.
I think for the next brief, I will start designing the presentation boards from much earlier on, instead of doing them last. I feel quite satisfied with the work I've turned in, especially because we have all worked so hard as a group to deliver a good quality campaign for the "Search Offline" brief. I really hope we win, or at least get nominated in the Roses Competition.
