born third and last child to the exceptionally wealthy pair, edward and amy moon, it’d be safe to say that micah’s financial needs had always been fulfilled ever since she was a child. though  the cost of that extravagance came in the form of her parents’ negligence, scantily able to spend time with the youngest unless they were adorning her with lectures on how to be the seamless next-in-line for their family.

despite the lack of attention from the elders, micah devoured the luxury with ease and was content with the affection that came from her babysitters as well as her doting sister, anka. to chalk her as spoiled might be a little coarse, but not untrue. the girl’s naivete was quite massive, and it blinded her into thinking that she could still idolize her parents and they were entirely worth of her worshipping.

although innocuous, micah was taught how to be the next heiress from the get-go, as her parents’ second attempt after her older sister showed signs of rebellion. everything she had ever desired was given on a silver platter, yet in order to return the favor she’d have to agree to extranous activities which demanded her to be courteous and prim. things twisted around for the worse when she was continuously pushed emotionally and punished in a very humiliating manner whenever she failed to impress her higher ranks and seniors.

bearing clumsiness, micah often discovered herself in physical predicaments; falling accidents and bruises smearing farther when she was only given a knock to her forehead or a slap to her wrist. becoming concerned that their peers would misunderstand the increasing marks and take notice of their harsh treatment, micah’s parents ultimately handed her to be adopted by a much more quaint family: the chois, yet ensuring they would return to take her again when they felt like she was prepared enough to finally receive the responsibility to be their successor.

living with the chois didn’t once ease her competitive nature and their desire to always come up on top amongst her siblings. with that being said, the adoptive family’s treatment towards her was significantly better and more humane. they saw the potential in the girl to be great and provided her all the education she needed as well as the medium that could launch her career. from here, micah began to develop interest in the art of broadcasting and social media and when she was old enough to perform the tasks, she started bouncing off to make her name known.

micah became a rather well-known student at school. to the point where it would be safe to deem her as popular. she was known to be amicable, cordial, and everyone’s ideal type to be the one that took charge of the school’s bidding fame. with that being said, no one was really aware of her rather persistent ways to gather the crown. plenty of her methods had ended up being somewhat dishonest, and she had tricked her opponent and shoved them into false exposure by putting corrupt accusations to take them out of them competition when she was gunning to become the homecoming queen. in which, she did become one, implying that despite the better upbringing, the twisted roots that her biological parents had planted never left.

in the midst of all these adolescent rivalries, however, micah discovered a fellow student that piqued her interest and eventually, attraction. atticus villanelle was a lonesome, enigmatic figure that made her want to pursue and dissect the mysteries around him. despite her peers’ warnings to not be involved with such a reticent figure like he, the two ended up meeting, and sparks were quick to be ignited. micah, who previously had not been appealed to implore her romantic side, was enthused and enticed by his allure. soon enough, two different sides of the universe became one, and she found herself falling in love with the artist the more their relationship flourished.

her life seemed to continue clambering up ever since. even after her lover had to drop out of the school, she ensured they maintained contact and micah had never had a second to turn her interest to someone else despite her mounting empire. throughout the times when she didn’t have atticus with her, micah turned up her dedication to educate herself more in broadcasting. she cared a lot less about finding true love, as she was sure that hers had been solidified the moment she landed eyes on atticus.

after graduating high school and establishing her own occupation, working alongside her former classmate johnathan cheng, or mostly known as johnny, to build their own podcast studio and gearing to make a name for themselves. johnny was known to be an envious man, however, and tried several times to court the podcaster just like all those pursuers that had settled their mark on her when she was growing up with her biological family. micah never returned his feelings, and this seemed to boil him even more within. micah dodged all of that possible debacle with ease, particularly when she was later reunited with the love of her life and the two meshed together again seamlessly.

on the side, micah had gradually began to uncover more of her biological family’s facts and news. whilst her older sister had been pronounced either missing or dead ( while she was well-aware that they weren’t ) she also began to take notice of discrepancies, subtle crimes such made by the influential figures and how toxic they could be amongst their peers. slowly but surely recalling all the hell they had put her through as a child, whilst she grew more and more rebellious and outspoken with atticus, micah’s idolization of them began to wane up until she even decided that she would take over the company one day and aiming to establish a better environment and bonds. when her parents were later exposed for their crimes and were thrown into jail, micah signed and claimed her rights to become their official heiress, knowing both her older siblings, after discovering her eldest one, evren, had no particular interest in taking the position.

the relationship between her and atticus further expanded, and after taking luxurious trips and losing her virginity to him, the two became engaged and started living together. they also attended college together and micah, being the over-achiever that she was, once again graduated with flying colors. whilst the enrollment wasn’t a necessity, her future position as a heiress would demand her to possess at least significant degrees in order to be taken seriously. she barely had a hard time pushing through, and was ecstatic to have her soon-to-be spouse be with her despite them not having the same goals. it never really mattered to her, as long as they stayed together.

soon enough, the two eventually tied the knot and furthened their joy, opting to remain as a couple without a child to entirely bask in each other’s presence. however, their peace was then finally lacerated when atticus experienced a downfall lurch after the murder of his sister and the free-falling of his mental health. micah eventually decided to halt her education chasing and dedicated the majority of her free time ensuring her husband would be okay. it was not a hassle for the lovebirds, although there would be times where micah would slip here and there.

unfortunately more tragedies soon began to daunt the couple, starting from a break-in and harassment caused by johnny, now her former employer, to the mental dive she was developing as he continued to disturb the two both mentally and physically. ultimately, she was unable to take the emotional beating anymore and after an accident involving atticus and she on a new year’s eve, she decided to use her power to put johnny out. her crime was investigated and sniffed out after, and just like her parents, she was put in prison. however, due to her wealth and influence as a heiress, micah managed to shorten her time, though currently still on parole. micah’s stress was also amplified when she found out she had been pregnant months prior, and after her labor, she decided to hand the baby to be cared by her older sister’s family.

micah suffers from an increasing mental chagrin after the break-in incident, causing her at times to hallucinate her attacker and see him in places he isn’t supposed to be. micah, however, is being handled by professional and high-paid psychiarists to keep her poised and taken care of.

she currently owns her very own podcast, in love with the rythm, after finding out she and johnny no longer worked out as co-workers as well as her discomfort towards his obssessions.

micah is a cat lover, and owns three furballs she and her husband have been raising together with joy. like their own children, perhaps.

When Alicia Mae, stay-at-home mother, dressmaker, laid eyes on her second child the first cortage of rumination that coursed through her mind always powdered into three pristine fragments: she had eyes with darker hues but just as big and as meddlesome as her mother’s had been upon plunking a first step in the city that never slept; she was gurgling out loud noises that seemed to tickle her throat; and she couldn’t stop creating mountains with her crayons for her mother to see and ignoring the spinning wheels or any other mechanical toys that functioned around them.

When Matthew Alcott, a struggling company man, step-father, laid eyes on the child, he wanted to cover his ears because he knew something too boisterous would come out of her mouth and distract him from his paperworks. He’d notice her from the corner of his eyes, stumbling and crumbling puzzles his collagues had given her as a birthday gift because she didn’t like the way they were constructed and he would feel embarrassment wreck into him, and he wondered if she’d ever quieten down one day like her brother did.

The battered mixture of those two perspectives alongside explosive environments shaped Heather into someone draped in jagged edges and pure childlike confusion — she was born at a time where her father would rather remain with one obligent child and ignored her sloppy advances in her attempt to seek for a fatherly figure. Her mother was always too fragile, permitting her husband’s ragged and coarse collagues to crash into their house without conscious consent and shutting eyes when they were wrecking around the house behaving as if they owned the place. Her brother chose to be ignorant most of the time, only there when required. Witnessing all of this, Heather started to develop harsh tendencies herself.

She grew up knowing and constantly frightened by the fact that rage was a part of her everyday routine. Loud silverwares at eight in the morning, beer bottles being thrown throughout the rest of the afternoon, shouting, screaming, hands on her arms when she raised her voice and her own hands on someone’s arms when they so much as breathe too heavily over her shoulder, wounds, bruises. Her father, now intrigued, decided to milk her anger — continuously he would push and pull to see how far she would go, how powerful and how weak she could be, severely abuse her before letting her rest again later to lick her own wounds.

Discovering rifts of solace was almost implausible until her little sister, Samantha, was born into the world — untouched and unwounded yet by the claws of her father, Heather desperately took the initiative to take care and shield the youngest sibling when the others couldn’t. The two grew a close bond and amidst Heather’s muddy other efforts to find peace and distractions through physical, sexual, and harmful endeavors, she, for the first time, felt what it was like to be thoroughly cared by someone other than her mother and numerous psychiatrists her father had assigned for her to cover his wrongdoings.  Those were short bursts of short-lived comfort. But there was peace, and then there wasn’t.

Hell broke loose when a feud between her and her father turned atrocious to the point where physical harm was inflicted — Samantha accidentally slipped and was caught in the crossfire when Heather’s elbow pushed her during the fiasco, causing her to collapse off the stairs and ending with a fractured arm and two heavily damaged legs. The aftermath of the incident was enough to turn Heather’s world upside down and blanketed her with ceaseless guilt, sending her into thousands of self-destructive behaviours which included two suicide attempts that earned a scar on her face. At this point, isolation became Heather’s only option, and curling herself away from the world, she decided to leave home and live on her own.

Lost and homeless, Heather found a temporary abode in Bonnie Springs where she encountered a man named Diego Rogalnikov; a gruff, mysterious figure whom she took interest in and his spouse, Anka Zileli, who later turned out to be her childhood friend and whom she was quick to warm up to despite her reluctance at first. Although due to her rather detached and fickle attitude, Heather gained a flawed reputation there which - having already been enstranged by most people since childhood, Heather tried not to let it get into her and stayed close to those who mattered. She discovered herself relishing Diego and Anka’s residence a lot and trained herself more in the arts of surviving, although her emotional struggle continued to launch her into many predicaments. However, Diego was a sick man, and after his health continued to deteriorate, so did Heather’s mental issues. Not wanting to accidentally harm them the way she had with Sam or becoming emotionally fragile herself, Heather decided it would be best to pack her bags again and continue her journey, though promising Anka that she would keep in touch with them as much as she could.

Spending several months with only so little resources on the streets, Heather soon prompted a low-maintenance career as a boxer, participating in weekly bouts to keep herself fed and somewhat provided. On the side, she began to also refine her artistic skills by working as a freelance carpenter and painter when the cash from her fights wasn’t enough to keep her through the month. In-between matches and mingling with the rowdy crowd, Heather was later let known by her trainer, an old-time work partner of her biological father, that she was not Matthew’s flesh and blood, but he denied knowing more about her father’s whereabouts. Barely enduring through those exhaustive nights, Heather later became involved in an on-and-off relationship with one of the ringleaders’ daughter, Astrid Locke. While the pair had their moments, they constantly failed to take it a step further due to Heather’s trauma and lacking comprehension of her own feelings at that time and Astrid’s continuous feeding to the unbridled, yet much more venomous lifestyle.

One match turned awry, however, when a hit from her opponent caused a striking impact, making her lose focus amidst the round and unintentionally rely on desperate and illegal moves. She lost the match and her career was forcibly halted for what she had done. Heather received a lingering injury after, and eventually she decided to flee again to receive help by admitting herself to several institutions, including one in her mother’s hometown in Korea, secluding herself to take care of the elder. Astrid and Heather maintained contact, and although Heather remained distant due to her medicated state, she promised to give them another chance when she returned to the States.

Later on, Heather was once again contacted by her then-former mentor, who explained more about her biological family. Including another older brother that she’d never met, and her twin, Cyrek Fawn. Although aghast at the very beginning, Heather took her time to soak in the news and then weaved up a plan to find them once she was discharged, that was, if they were willing to converse with her.

However, when she did find her way back, she was hit with the news that Astrid had been killed in a motorcycle club raid, accidentally getting tangled in the conflict that took her life. Morose, Heather became closed-off, reigniting her boxing career despite the warnings about her injury and lived a quiet live in a near rundown apartment for months. Around this time, she was reunited with Anka, reconciling their friendship after hearing the news about their husband’s passing. Soon enough, their relationship blossomed, and having learned to be more vulnerable, she opened herself fully to them and was genuine in their bond. They married a year after, taking in Anka son, Nikita, with them as well as Anka’s second child later, Claire. Heather once again exited boxing, entirely, to focus on her family.

Heather discovered her twin sometimes prior to her marriage, developing a gradual bond with the sullen punk. When tragedy struck and she found out that their half-sibling, Alice Onyx, had passed in a gruesome way, Heather became driven to ensure that nothing similar would ever unfold again and she started dipping in into the realm of crime-solving by attending classes for criminal justice. After two years of education and backed by her previous field experience, Heather established herself as a private investigator, continuing throughout the years after to train herself more and having her very own office to take on the cases.

An attempt to kidnap Nikita initiated by Anka’s ex yanked the two into a rescue mission, and amidst the bustle, Heather was wounded in her right eye and it resulted in her becoming one-eye blind. This warranted a surgery to remove her damaged eye, replacing it with a prosthetic. She later traded boxing to a secondary occupation as a boxing trainer at Lucky Cat Fitness center, after her mentor had given up the mantle.

Heather had also begun to develop a special project to provide assistance for neglected children or those without families spread their creativity by working together with a foster care organization and building an art shack for them; intending to make sure no other kids would have to go through what she had or at least, feel as lonesome  Supervised by the higher ranks of the organization, alongside a few of her close friends and Cyrek, she would attend the shack at least four times a week to accompany the children and welcome some of the new arrivals.

After finding out that Anka was no longer able to bear another child due to a traumatic event that happened while she was away, Heather agreed to consider doing an in vitro to ensure that they could still have another child - helping her wife cope with what she had lost. Heather then resided with her family, in her childhood home, attempting to find a semblance of peace with her old-time terror and replenish the place with better memories. She also continued her role as the leader of her art project and has been gradually planning to expand it further.

A year later, in January 2020, after discovering tranquility in the house she had long sought as a child and months after the passing of her mother, Heather and her family packed up and moved to the ranch and homestead once owned by Diego, however remaining to keep and fund the old house as she is currently planning to reconstruct some parts of it into a gallery filled with displays including art and the dresses her mother had made.

On August 2020, almost a year after agreeing to the in vitro, Heather gave birth to two fraternal twins; Aiden and Chaja Zileli.

Heather is one-eye blind, which causes her to struggle slightly with recognizing faces upon second or third encounters. She tends to rely on her hearing to recognize someone’s pattern, and touch for those whom she’s close with.  

Experienced eclampsia during her pregnancy followed by cerebral edema a few months after due to her boxing injury resurfacing whilst her stress was relatively high, prompting her into a surgery that would remove her brain’s swelling.

While the surgery was a success, the severity and longtime delay prior to it has caused several damages to her motor function, occasionally resulting in speech and motion impairment.

Although her other eye functions more normally, it’s also slightly muddled and most of the time she’s required to wear glasses, except for when she’s at home or is supervising her classes. 

Has an evident oral fixation, when not smoking, you’ll at times find her suckling a blueberry-flavored popsickle or biting the end of her pen. 

Heather inherits her mother’s childhood home in Damyang-gun, South Korea, and every few years or months she would fly over there to clean the house per the late elder’s request.

BACKGROUND.

—  there  was  nothing  strange  about  dante’s  upbringing.  it’s  simple  as  that.  he  feels  as  if  there’s  nothing  extremely  outlandish  to  note.  his  mothers  have  always  been  nothing  but  gentle  and  loving  (  perhaps  too  gentle,  perhaps  a  little  too  willing  to  let  dante  do  as  he  pleased.  ) —  one  could  argue  that  maybe  part  of  his  issue  is  that  he  spent  the  first  few  years  of  his  life  being  home  -  schooled  by  his  mother,  an  english  teacher  who  had  left  her  job  in  order  to  be  home  with  her  son.  she  never  regretted  her  decision,  but  perhaps  she  coddled  dante  a  bit  too  much.   —  he  was  always  a  bit  of  a  wild  child  and  he  could  get  away  with  it,  their  closest  neighbors  being  about  three  miles  down  the  road  from  their  house.  he  was  never  a  bother  to  anyone  but  his  own  parents,  and  whatever  his  imagination  was  able  to  come  up  with.  and  believe  me  when  i  say,  he’s  always  had  a  very  overactive  imagination.   

—  that  overactive  imagination  is  what  lead  to  his  interest  in  all  things  ...  strange.  ghost  stories,  urban  legends,  cryptids  ;  that  kinda  shit.  his  interest  first  piqued  in  his  early  teens,  and  it  went  downhill  from  there.  he  broadened  his  horizons  soon  after,  turning  his  focus  to  that  of  true  crime.  especially  things  left  unsolved.  he’d  always  been  the  type  to  demand  answers,  that  was  never  a  secret.  as  much  as  he  loved  a  god  mystery,  it  was  difficult  to  be  satisfied  without  an  answer.  justice.  you  name  it.  he  always  felt  as  if  he  needed  to  know. —  calling  him  a  conspiracy  theorist  is  something  he’d  consider  a  bit  extreme  but  he’ll  be  damned  if  the  shoe  don’t  fit,  ya  know  ?  at  least,  it  fits  if  you  don’t  really  know  him.  get  to  know  him  and  you  realize  it’s  this  insatiable  thirst  for  knowledge,  the  need  to  know,  no  matter  what  the  answer  or  result  may  be. —  his  decision  was  set  in  stone,  then.  dante  never  thought  college  would  be  a  good  fit  for  him,  but  he  went  anyway.  and  all  things  considered,  exceeded  his  own  (  and  other’s  )  expectations.  turns  out  he’s  a  little  bit  smarter  than  he  thought.

—  it’s  not  that  dante’s  navigation  of  adulthood  and  being  a  person  has  been  a  complete  blur,  it’s  just  that  he’s  never  allowed  himself  to  slow  down  and  appreciate  things  when  he  needs  to.  he’s  always  been  looking  for  something,  seeking  something  out,  pushing  himself  beyond  his  limits  and  then  some.  slowing  down  seemed  like  a  foreign  concept  to  him.  

—  until  recently.  until  his  move  to  point  pleasant,  really.  it’s  funny  how  shit  works  out  like  that.  there’s  a  part  of  him  that  wonders  if  things  would  be  different  if  he  hadn’t  run  into  ivy  again.  if  he’d  never  found  out  about  eugenia.  his  relationship  with  ivy  had  always  been  complicated,  maybe  even  unexpected  ;  it  occurred  at  a  time  in  his  life  when  things  were  strange.  and  ended  when  they  were  even  stranger.  despite  all  that,  he  harbors  no  negative  feelings  for  the  other.  he  simply  doesn’t  have  it  in  his  heart.  even  without  eugenia  in  their  lives,  he  knows  it  would  be  the  same. —  so,  yeah.  as  if  he  hadn’t  struggled  enough  trying  to  navigate  adulthood,  now  he’s  gotta  figure  out  how  parenthood  works.  and  honestly  ?  he  ain’t  doing  too  bad.

TIDBITS.

previously believed to be a supposed victim of kidnapping ransom gone very wrong; her whole life, evren was told that all of her family members had been murdered when she was three during the negotiation to rescue her and she was the only survivor left. it is often mentioned that her mentor, slash one-sided father figure and leader of grave reapers motorcycle gang, was present at that time to shelter and take her under his wing.

grave reapers itself was an extremely perilous and volatile group, staple of violence and the main reason as to why the residents of point pleasant grew an intense distrust towards motorcycle clubs in general, basically tarnishing their reputation. they weren’t afraid to raid establishments or challenge authorities; behaving as if they owned the town and infact during their prime they almost stirred trouble everywhere they went. the leader wasn’t above killing innocents either, emotionlessly regarding them as casualties. 

the leader basically adopted her into the horde for a couple of reasonings, one due to the hefty amount of money that her biological parents, who at that times weren’t ready to raise a child and faked a kidnapping scenario, and two because he desired to have a protegee made from scratch. he could have easily plucked anyone to just do that, but what he had demanded was someone untainted, a blank canvas that he could etch with his own persuasions and lies. 

and to say that he’d succeeded would be an understatement. born from genetics of people who had an absolute tenacity in work, evren grew up ravenous to be what her pseudo-father had urged her to be despite his lack of care for her well-being. instead of an actual daughter, evren was rendered into the club’s most deadliest weapon; with bad temper and hands that never hesitated to kill, she had fulfilled his expectations and more. evren was tossed into a lot of murderous practices as a child, having her first kill when she was only twelve when they bumped heads with other motorcycle gangs, and getting tangled in raids which would kill innocents the more she grew up. 

evren, despite being cold-hearted and devoid of emotion, had some sort of code at the very least. she had taken lives of many, mostly her marks as she grew to be their personal assassin, but she had never actually killed an innocent directly unless they were caught in the crossfire. for her, her assignments were just that, a means to impress her leader and to advance their club. she had never given a damn for anyone around her, but had never been precisely violent around them either unless they crossed a line and a target was put on their head. 

evren gained enough reputation to make her fellow members avoid bothering her. though, the leader, to prevent her from feeling unduly superior, also brought in his biological daughter into the mix to act as evren’s rival and to keep her gunning for more. this was the root of evren’s habit to often feel envious, the leader on the other hand succeeded in maintaining her in the cage with this. her rival was much more polished than evren was, and to taunt the latter, the leader continuously warranted priviliege to his biological daughter to keep evren working and still somewhat putty in his hands. 

however, much to the leader’s chagrin, evren’s obedience was somewhat short-lived especially when, during her teenage years, she met up with one certain, wounded punk cyrek fawn. everything about him and his constant acts of rebellion intrigued her to her core, and despite their flaring, inferno-like exchanges, they started to hook up even after her leader had strongly advised her to not maintain contact with him but evren paid no mind to it. cyrek’s resistence began to rub off on her, and she relished the ventures they were able to devour together, picturing the universe sinking in and there was only the two of them left. the two were pretty much hazardous and inseparable, up until a specific point where they had to be forcibly shredded from each other. though, it was definitely not the last time she’d seen of him. 

spending time with cyrek had swelled in the impedance within her. no longer was she the marionette that nodded every at order, and while she resumed her affliation with the club as well as her tasks to take out their targets, evren seemed to have learned how to bite back even more. this, of course, angered the leader and he did all that he could to ensure he would torment her for it by both giving her harsh treatment, manipulation, while he fed her lies about cyrek to sway her feelings. unstable at that time, and confused as to which side she needed to take, evren sucked in a few of his words, including the lie about him abandoning her on purpose. this didn’t change her behavior much, often only discovering herself becoming more wrathful of things. 

with that being said, when evren was tasked to pursue cyrek again for the leader’s menacing deeds, there were more complications as everything her leader had ever told began to show holes and mismatches, including the made-up tale about her parents being murdered and that she no longer had family. she did, as it turned out that she was the eldest daughter of the moon family, twin to anabelle and older sister to micah, and all of these truths came out with the assistance of the person she had fallen in love with. cyrek had also willed himself to care for the child they had received after all of their escapades together, all of these combined only caused evren’s loyalty to shake even more. this whole time, she had been feeding the wrong hound, pleasing a liar and soon enough the decision to betray the club inevitably came around.

the cost of freedom had never been easy. while her allignment had been solidifed and that she had decided not to ever pull herself away from the punk vocalist that had impacted and changed her life for the better, ripping off the strings would mean facing the puppeter and it had not been pleasant at all. the journey was mangled with bloodshed, fights, and loss of one of the people whom actually cared for her sincerely, her old handler miller, and in one of the intense chases to evade the club an accident occured that elicited her trauma for four-wheel vehicles. not only that, after narrowly managing to desert her old club, her former leader announced the order to take her down permanently and getting wounded, she was left in a burning house to die. cyrek showed up to rescue her when she was breathing out her last breaths, turning her into one of his kind, a vampire, to stop her from dying. 

she now rides with vicious vandals, another motorcycle club that is manned by she and cyrek, and lives a much less extravagant and blood-coated life. with that being said, she savors in everything it has to offer despite their struggles with finance on several occasions. evren strips down her guns, most of the time, for a life filled with odd jobs and much more common activities, though after enduring one that forced her to be that bloody assassin perhaps normalcy becomes entertaining. after several miscarriages caused by stress, she currently lives with her children and taking care of them with cyrek, one also gained from cyrek’s previous relationship with lucy choi.

BACKGROUND.

—  the  funny  thing  about  donnie’s  life  growing  up  is  that,  despite  all  the  bullshit,  they’d  still  consider  it  pretty  fucking  boring.  almost  expected,  even.  they  never  knew  their  parents,  having  been  handed  over  to  their  grandfather  before  they  were  two  years  old  ;  and  that  man  did  his  damnedest  to  make  donnie’s  life  a  living  hell. —  no  matter  what  they  did,  it  was  never  good  enough.  they  were  never  good  enough.  every  harsh  blow  and  slurred  word  thrown  their  way  left  a  sense  of  emptiness,  a  void  they  weren’t  sure  could  be  filled.  and  emptiness  caused  restlessness.  they  wanted  to  go.  they  didn’t  know  where,  just  ...  somewhere.  anywhere. —  it  started  gradually,  their  staying  out  late.  until  they  began  staying  out  the  entire  night  all  together.  it  wasn’t  much,  but  it  was  something.  for  a  little  while,  running  around  late  at  night,  without  a  single  fuck  to  be  given,  filled  that  void.  the  second  their  grandfather  found  out,  however,  that  hole  in  their  chest  was  torn  open  again. —  as  if  all  that  shit  wasn’t  enough,  as  luck  would  have  it,  one  of  their  nightly  outings  turned  sour.  and  really,  they  figure  that’s  what  they  get  for  hanging  around  the  seedy  skate  park  when  they  thought  they  were  alone.  nothing  puts  shit  into  perspective  like  a  knife  to  the  throat  while  a  stranger  takes  all  your  shit. —  it  made  them  feel  weak.  helpless.  more  than  their  grandfather  ever  did.  and  yeah,  something  kinda  changed  in  donnie  that  day.  sparked  something  within  them,  and  gave  them  something  to  pursue.  something  to  distract  them  from  all  the  shit.  boxing  was  their  best  bet.  training.  hell,  they  were  still  young,  but  they  could  at  least  start.

—  when  they  were  sixteen,  they  found  out  about  their  half  -  sister.  by  chance,  something  they  had  heard  in  passing  when  they  weren’t  supposed  to,  whispered  words  among  other  family  members.  and  those  whispers  weren’t  enough.  it  wasn’t  easy,  finding  their  sister,  but  it  was  worthwhile.   —  the  first  time  they  met,  donnie  was  nearly  scared  shitless.  every  other  experience  with  family  hadn’t  been  great  and  so,  they’d  set  their  expectations  low.  maybe  it’s  because  they  were  so  low  that  they  were  blown  completely  out  of  the  water.  their  sister  was  the  first  person  to  show  them  genuine  kindness.  to  ignore  all  the  other  bullshit  and  treat  them  like  family. —  at  eighteen,  they  moved  out  of  their  grandfather’s  house  and  into  their  sister’s.  working  odd  jobs  in  an  attempt  to  help  out.  it  didn’t  feel  like  much,  it  didn’t  feel  like  enough,  but  at  least  it  was  something.   —  living  with  their  sister  gave  them  the  chance  to  get  serious  about  their  training.  although  she  didn’t  necessarily  approve  at  first,  it  was  obvious  to  see  just  how  passionate  they  were  about  it.  after  so  many  years  of  being  beaten  down,  it  was  time  for  them  to  take  their  stand,  and  who  was  she  to  deny  them  that  ?

—  restlessness  hit  again  around  twenty  -  five,  and  donnie  found  themselves  packing  their  bags.  they  had  enough  money  saved  up  to  handle  themselves  for  a  little  while,  and  that  was  all  they  needed.  things  were  different  now.  they  could  actually  take  care  of  themselves  now,  y’know  ?  it  wasn’t  about  running  from  something  anymore,  but  to  it.  they  just  don’t  know  what  they’re  running  towards  yet. —  they  spent  years  couch  surfing,  hanging  out  in  bars  and  seedy  clubs  that  housed  people  donnie  could  consider  family.  it  might  not  have  seemed  like  much,  but  despite  it  all,  it  was  the  first  time  they  felt  they  truly  belonged  somewhere.

—  the  move  to  point  pleasant  was  never  meant  to  be  temporary  but  after  three  years,  they  haven’t  left.  they  don’t  know  if  they’ve  found  what  they’re  running  to.  they  aren’t  sure  if  they’ve  found  the  place  they  truly  belong  yet,  but  it’s  something.  it’s  something,  and  that’s  what  they  keep  telling  themselves.  they  have  family  here.  the  people  they  care  about  are  here.  is  it  so  bad  if  they  decide  to  stay  a  little  while  ?
